Meh. You only bytch about the refs when you lose. It's part of the game and calls go both ways. Unless you're gonna analyze each play for the calls they got and the plays they missed it's a fruitless and frustrating endeavor. I'll concentrate on what we can control.

Unless you wanna talk about the Swindle. Refs definitely and purposefully determined the outcome of that game.

Now I agree, but I also won’t act like multiple phantom DPI didn’t have an impact on the game. Multiple early third downs where they got TD’s after the DPI.

I do not blame them for the loss (more to come), but I think any commentary that they had no impact would be just as dumb the opposite way.

You mean like the kid who was standing in the endzone to fair catch a kickoff, only to have it bounce off of him and roll out of bounds at the 1 yard line? Oh of course it does not matter to the masses b/c it lead to a 99 yard drive, but what if it had not? The answer is simple: If you are instructed to or have no intention of returning a kickoff if the kick makes it to the endzone, then get the EFF away from it. Once the ball touches any part of the endzone before touching a player it is a dead ball!!!!

But that would involved physically practicing the mental aspects of the game. Not happening!!!
So frustrating. We were spoiled by Meyer's special teams. It's gotten better since the Nord error but damn if you're putting a player back there to return then you damn sure drill into his head every damn scenario and what to do. So damn frustrating.

Agreed, but NOT HAPPENING with Cousin Eddie. And did you see the same guy actually returning one kickoff? Not only is he awful at it he is very slow. Not a good recipe for a kickoff return man.

Ok. But only because you asked nicely. AR will not start next week vs UT. And now I wait for the obvious... :)
First I am not saying he starts next week. I am saying he plays....beginning next week...guess I should have stated it that way.

But enjoy the drunk emote

Of course it has an impact. I'd have to watch again. I don't recall phantom calls. I recall iffy calls. Did they also make non calls when there should have been calls against us? Were any of the calls against them phantom? Did they miss calls against them?
We've seen what it takes to be championship team. You take advantage of breaks when they come your way. And when they go against you, you overcome them. If we tackle, the PIs don't matter. We didn't lose because of the refs.

And for those who don;t think knowing the rules and physically practicing the mental aspects of the game is important, I suggest you watch the Memphis punt return for a TD against Cowbell. A completely risk free play by the Memphis player turned into a TD. Even if the Memphis player had fumbled the ball and Cowbell recovered, it still would have been Memphis ball. Know the rules, practice the rules and then practice them some more!

Missed XP loomed large at the end. Make that and we don’t need to go for 2.

We manhandled Bama, which you almost never see. The OL played well, the DL needed to apply pressure more quickly.

EJ played well, better than I expected.

AR needs more snaps week by week. If this team plays with focus and intensity we’ll be in Atlanta with a much more potent attack that we showed today. I’d love a rematch with AR playing.

We could have won this game, should have. We need to improve each week and if we do - big if - we can win out. I don’t see anyone nationally better than Bama.

We are so much better than the Muschamp or Butters eras.

How about we don't put ourselves in the position of needing to go for two to tie a game only to give the ball back to bama with plenty of time to drive for a FG? How bout instead we don't turn the ball over and forget how to tackle to put us in a 21-3 hole?
