So now we're going to have college athletes holding out due to money deals. Is there any more final nail in the coffin for what was once amateur athletics?

This disaster is only the tip of the iceberg.

Yep, makes me wonder if there will even be college football in 10 years? And if there is, will I even want to watch? The more "professional" it becomes, the less I'm going to want to watch it. I don't watch the NFL now with the exception of the Super Bowl.

Now we have another can of worms.. Wil they have to pay taxes in each state they play in as the pros do??
They are 1099 contractors not employees. The answer isn't clear cut as they "technically" are not paid to play. So if they do a licensing promotion in multiple States the answer would be yes, if only in the contractural State I would assume no. What a complete cluster fxxk this is becoming.

Im no attorney, but am a 1099 employee and think you are correct. I also think that since they are 1099’s it’s highly likely that many of these guys will run afoul of the IRS (and in some states, the state version of the IRS).
