In all the years of all the games ever played in the history of college football, THIS! is the the most must-win game ever. Ever.

What about the ‘97 Sugar Bowl? The ‘06 or ‘08 games in tallacrappy? They were important games with national title implications.

But we’re living in the present...

We haven't thrown for 200 yards or more against FSU since 2009.

It really can't be under-stated how much of a must-win this is for Mullen. f$u has been garbage all season long and has been destroyed by any competent coach. I recognize Florida doesn't have the same talent as Clemson or Notre Dame--but we're certainly no worse than NC State, VTech, or Syracuse.

This is where Mullen earns his paycheck: if he can't beat a hated rival when they are suffering a historically bad season, then it's going to be a looong offseason for him to rebuild that damage.

It's our damn super bowl too! UR-freaking-GENCY! If we don't have it then damnit get some. If they come out with more "want to" then our guys...Houston, we have a problem. Mullen should see this as a HUGE HUGE opportunity. There should be MASSIVE urgency from the AD down to the waterboys. WE MUST WIN THIS GAME!

I hope this is right, but I do worry about their focus on us versus our focus under Mullen for rivalries as any other game prep.

"Man, I haven’t beat them yet," senior Florida tight end R.J. Raymond said. "That’s been circled on my calendar for a long time, since probably November. What was it, the 27th last year when we played them? That’s probably it. That game’s been circled on there since I decided to come back. We’re going to give it our best shot this week. We’re going to go out there, we’re going to practice harder than we’ve ever practiced, and we’re going to go out there and play hard and see if we can come out with a 'W.'"

THAT is what you want to hear. And not "see if we can" - you are going to come out with a W! AMEN!

Agreed, but that is a walk-in fullback. Here are the qb’s:

"We've got to win, no matter what. We've got to win," Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois said. "And this is for us to make it to a bowl game. The whole country knows what’s at stake. The whole [city of] Tallahassee knows what’s at stake. Our fans, our coaching staff, trainers, teachers.

"Everybody knows we’ve got to win this game. This is a team that’s a rivalry team. So that just makes it a little bit better."

Florida players are conditioned to treat every opponent the same, just focusing on what they need to do to come out and play well each game.

"I mean, it'd be nice," Franks said. "You want to go out there and win. You don't want to go out there and lose."

Seriously Franks? It would be nice? While he can’t go full Gatorchatter, this is concerning.

I think we overcome this attitude though. The metrics are really telling that we are the better team even if they have a better collection of talent. Hopefully we come out fully hyped at noon.

I understand where you’re coming from, and there was a little hyperbole in my statement, but not a whole lot. For all the reasons already stated in here Mullen has to win this game. Worst HalfAssU team in years. This is one of those games where it feels like a loss would have more impact than a win.

Pretty sure Mullen told these guys not to give out any board material, a few FSU players are already guaranteeing a win

Right off we need our 3 RBs to rip off tackle-breaking runs, showing the Noles they aren't capable of stopping us.
Let's go in fighting - from the start.
Let's rely on Franks the maximum number of minimum times.
Time for UF to rule the state of Florida.

BC's RB played hurt and still had 100 yards, we need to run Scarlett and Perine down their throats.

Yep Franks could have handled that a little bit differently.

I don't really buy this. Mullen was right there with Meyer for all those years, seeing how to treat rivalries. I don't think he's coaching them that's it just another game.
