This kid is a 5'9 DB/RB and supposedly would be a stud if he was taller. He could be a safety/star position or play offense:

I’m far from a Fooley apologist but where should or could they have built the IPF other than where it is? Money had to be thrown at baseball to get the stadium moved to make room for the football facility. There was no way around it. Fact is is that Fooley dug is a huge hole and we can’t just snap our fingers and instantly fix it...it’s gonna take time. If it were up to Foley we would have had a 45 yard IPF and nothing else...SS has a ton of work to do to dig us out. Sadly it is what it is at this point.
I agree there's no turning back now, but there were two other options and the stand alone would be complete right now. The first would be build a multi-story garage on the existing practice fields, opening the O'Connell center lots for practice fields and the stand-alone, nixed by boosters because they lose their cozy tailgating spots. And two, tear down the run down former president house across from the practice fields. This option would have upgraded the entire edge of campus, but will continue to be an eyesore for the whole university because the faculty could not see the vision of sharing the property with the UAA. Keep in mind that all the facultys loyalties lie with the school they attended not UF. This is where the president should have stepped in, and at UA, FSU, and Clemson they would have, but not here. There were options, but were ignored.

Or...just put a garage where the band practice field is...they can play the fight song over the sound system

There clearly is no plan and there certainly isn’t any strategic thought going into how to get the football team back to championship caliber. If there was, we wouldn’t have built the IPF where we did and we certainly wouldn’t have committed $160M in facility upgrades to all other sports except football and then cry poor mouth and beg for more money before addressing football’s needs. Sadly, I think we’re fine with a middling 8-4 team and don’t have the will nor inclination to do what it takes to complete on the big stage anymore. Hope I’m wrong. I’ll keep watching regardless, just can’t help myself. However, if this goes on for another decade, that could change.

This is kinda where I am right now. That in itself isn’t a good sign.

Leonard received a different vibe from the Florida Gators this time
...

Offensive lineman Richie Leonard (6-3, 320, Cocoa, FL. High)

“It was a good visit overall,” Leonard said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I got to see a couple of things up there and talked to the coaches. They kind of made me feel like more of a priority this time because I have the offer now.”

Mullen spent a lot of time with Leonard on Saturday and he explained why the Gators wanted him and why the offer took a little longer to come.

“I got to talk to Coach Mullen and he just kept reiterating that they want me at the University of Florida,” he said on his talks with Mullen. “He just kept saying that they like me and want me and that they’ve had their eye on me since last summer and that he wanted to make sure when I did have an offer that I had a committable offer.”
...
“I have a lot of interest in Florida and they made my top seven that I released,” he said of his interest in Florida. “I’m going to be listening to what they have to say from here on out. The visit and seeing how much they really wanted me helped them out.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Leonard says he’s taking an official visit to Kentucky and Tennessee this month. Leonard also says he will make a final decision on July 5th.

Yeah, that vibe is a lot different when they actually want you! I like this kid in the class - but we really need a couple of OT's.

He went to HS in Cali too....
I just don't think the track record with Cali kids justifies the expenditure of time and money required to get them here. Texas is about as far away as I care to go for recruits, and there is no comparison between the players from Texas and Cali - from any aspect. IMO, the SE and Mid-Atlantic states are fair game, but the NE, Midwest and Westcoast are a waste of time and money. 85%+ of our players should be FL kids, or at least from states bordering on FL.
