Very little drma with his recruiting.
My first thought was why are we going to Texas, and why should we assune he wants to come here. However, if Torrian is his recruiter, and wants him, then we are good.

Yeah the JUCO merry-go-round is a terrible move for a coach at UF. Three of the scarce resources of a program are signing opportunities and scholarship opportunities (25/85 to complete my list at 3.) When you sign a kid that goes to JUCO you are trading the opportunity to have a player for 4 or 5 seasons to have one for 2 or 3 seasons. That will in the long run deplete your roster and diminish your program.
Of course since the ignorant writer immediately started confounding players not qualifying which does affect a recruiting class and players enrolling and players transferring which while affecting the roster has NOTHING to do with ranking the class. That of course makes me wonder if the writer has a clue about Mullen's recruiting strategies either.

There are a couple of Community Colleges in Mussippi and they feed Cowbell and Old Siss. We have nothing comparable. No idea how this is supposed to work. Sure hope we have enough solid candidates that we arent desperately reaching for these guys in the future.

A MS juco is usually in the hunt for national juco championship.
I hope we reach for Black.
Jucos may diminish rosters, but not always. Example: a slow developing OL stays five years, contributing for two. Same guy might go juco, transferring in for three years and still contribute for two.

Agree, and taking one or two a year isn't bad - Alabama has had a lot of success with it, and a few other bigger programs. Unfortunately, we're in a position right now where we need a few transfers ,juco or otherwise, due to departures/poor roster balance. Hopefully the roster gets settled in a year or two and the need for juco's drops off.

Few things to address.
1st....Arian Smith and UGA.....its a 3 way tie right now between us, UGA and Bama.....staff feels confident and its not close to being over and will likely go up until NSD
2) Mullen did get very risky last recruiting cycle and has been told to clean that up and not let it happen again. Going forward, you wont see anywhere close to as many guys not qualifying or having academic issues in getting in
3) The recruiting staff is getting beefed up big time.....Mullen has been actively interviewing guys for the last few months and is committed to putting together the best staff he can. Major upgrades on this are coming soon
4) Expect us to add a transfer or two before the season starts
5) Despite Donk's opinion, yes, Rogers did commit and that was not an artist's rendering of his commitment letter and in a Gator Uni!
