Wouldn’t surprise me if the record got worse this year. Our OL is shaky. We have a pretty good defensive front 4 but not front 7. Our safeties are iffy and shallow at best. Not to mention we won a lot of close games last year - a stat that generally evens out over time. I get the year 2 thing but the flip side to that is that we outperformed record expectations last year. An overall improved team might have a worse record in 2019.
I dont consider the difference between say, 3 losses and 4 to be significant. Or 2 losses even. I would be very surprised to see only 1 or 5.
8-4 would be disappointing to me, only because it would have to include a very bad loss. And I realize that’s a part of Mullen’s resume but I don’t like it.
