Its the ultimate failure of Foley. A hire like Stoops should’ve been made after Chump. I wasn’t a fan of the Chump hire but it made some sense at the time. But you just couldn’t miss after Chump and going after another cheap, high risk guy was as stupid as it gets. I hope UF boosters take note and demand change at UAA. Its well past time.

It actually makes sense that, if true, it was in the works for a while. The only way they could come up with the needed funds to dump Willie was for wealthy (not rich, wealthy) alums to pony up. Those guys are only going to write those kind of checks if they are convinced the AD is going to get it right this time.

Okay I am now fully on board on wanting ole Bob to take this job and to groom Kendal Briles as HC in waiting. Have you seen how disorganized Briles is and how it translates to the field? Briles for HC. I am all in. Yes I know that falls on Willie but Willie was recently quoted as saying "Kendal calls the plays"

just saw that too, and that throws water on the flames about stoops. doubtful minn would pull a contract extension and raise out of their butts within a couple hours if there was anything substantial to the stoops thing.

This is one of those predictions where you better hope your sources are well-informed bc if you end up wrong, there's going to be a lot of chit thrown in your direction.
And I'd point to all the wild rumors from our own recent coaching searches (STAB, Chip Kelly, etc.) as something to be mindful of too, since even well-connected individuals are often wrong...

I have no idea on whether Stoops rumor is true or not. But if true the optics of announcing on Thursday just doesn't look good to me. You fire the HC on Monday and have a new guy in by Thurs? I'm sure the Nolie fans would be ecstatic but would imagine the national media will have field day of firing a minority coach just because you got something better. And why install Haggins as interim?
