I still have never heard Clayton's name mentioned in any practice or game reports. He's the most invisible 5 star player I've ever seen.

Dude... He's a true freshman this year... Who came into college weighing 215 pounds.... as a DEFENSIVE LINEMAN.

Wouldn't it be great if we could get back to not hearing anything about most freshmen while they redshirt and get big enough to play in the SEC?

Except maybe the rare Percy or Tebow?

Wouldn't that be sweet?

Do you read the "Real Spring Practice Report" thread? Post #446. It's in there, but I'll post it again here so you can't make this "fake news" claim again!! :D

Comment on Clayton:

With the “next men up” fighting for minutes in the rotation, Bryan and Jefferson have seen several of Florida's underclassmen make massive leaps in their development. One of them is former five-star freshman Antonneous Clayton, who has added considerable mass to his frame and appears poised for a breakout sophomore campaign.

“Oh, boy. He's put on some weight,” Jefferson said of Clayton. “I've seen that guy from the time he got here, he's just been dedicated to putting on weight. That's something that he wanted to do. You can definitely see a change for the better for him. Of course he's going to turn heads this year.”

I hear ya! I threatened to start another thread called, "The Real Real Spring Practice Thread"!!! :D

But, in seriousness, Clayton looks legit and gives us a 5-star DE to look forward to. I'm glad he redshirted as well. I've seen too many kids play who should have redshirted (Joey Ivie is one, he should be a senior starter on this year's team).

The UAA usually posts a pre-spring updated roster and they didn't do that this year. Disappointing. There are several players I wanted to see where they were w/ gains:

Polite was one. If he's going to play inside I'd love to see him over 285 (sure, 300 is ideal, but he played at 270 last year).
Desir-Jones - since he's moved to DT.
All of the TE's.
All of the LB's.
Some of the other DE's as well.

I'd like to know when they're going to put out an updated roster. Maybe before the spring game? Who knows...

270? He was maybe a few pounds heavier than Jarrad.

He wasnt 270 while carrying home all his groceries. Some of those number are an absolute joke. He needs to put on 20+ pounds to get to DE weight. Jarrad put on some weight and measured 238 at the NFL combine btw.

Polite was like 226 or so when he committed to us. When we sign the projects, we have to know it will take time.

UAA's folks are too busy surfing the www for exciting info and porn to update the roster, Willis.
