Florida now has the No. 4 recruiting class in the Southeastern Conference. ....The SEC teams immediately trailing UF are the South Carolina Gamecocks at No. 9 overall, the Mississippi State Bulldogs at No. 12, and the Texas A&M Aggies at No. 15 in the nation..
Lol.... says it all. We just snuck ahead of UNC and USC.

So a member of the media "thinks" a commitment in June before someone's SR season is a signing. Good grief.
MOST of the kids honor their commitments. How many did we lose last year on NSD? None?

We are lower than that. Assume Leonard Manuel is not in this class until he is officially on campus.
We arent going to land an elite class this year either obviously. We will need three of those to get back on track.

At least we can land a mediocre class with size for DT and DE (and hopefully DL).

Dumbazz mushChimp was right about one thing, it is a line of scrimmage league.

Either that or it's a midline league.

On Friday night, the Florida Gators picked up a big commitment from one of their most recent official visitors.

Defensive tackle Lamar Goods (6-4, 290, Oakdale, CT. St. Thomas More) committed to Florida over several other offers just a week after he was in Gainesville for his official visit.

“I knew all along that I want to commit there after I went there,” Goods said on why he committed to Florida. “Some things happened during the visit that showed me that I really wanted to go there but I had to wait a little bit. I don’t like to wait because I would rather get it over with and not have to deal with the other schools and everything. I don’t think it’s fair both ways.”

While on campus, Goods noticed a few things that made Florida the easy choice for his college commitment.

“The way that the players are developed there,” he said on what made him choose Florida during the visit. “The way they transform their bodies and Coach [David] Turner is a great coach and has coached some great people like Fletcher Cox. I want to be in that legacy of defensive linemen.”

Defensive line coach David Turner was a big reason for why Goods committed to Florida as the two have developed a good relationship early on.

“That’s my guy, we have a good relationship,” Goods said of Turner. “We’re on the same page of what I want to accomplish once I get there, it’s a really good relationship.”

Turner explained to Goods on the visit just how the Gators would use him in the defense and how big of a need defensive tackles were in the 2020 class.

“He wants me to work inside and do what I do,” he said on where Turner sees him playing. “He just wants me to get it done on the inside. I looked at the need and I want to go to a place that there is a hard drive to play and I also I want to have a chance to play my freshman year. Florida will give me a chance to play earlier than most people.”

Goods told head coach Dan Mullen the news in front of his family and it’s a feeling that the defensive tackle can’t explain.

“It was great, we were all happy, me, him, my mom and grandma were all there,” Goods said on Mullen’s reaction to the news he wanted to commit. “It was a great time, I can’t even explain it. It was awesome.”

Now that Goods has made his commitment to Florida, the defensive tackle says he’s done taking visits and is focused on the Gators going forward.
“Yeah, I’m done with my recruitment,” he said on if he plans to shut down his recruitment after this commitment. “I appreciate everything that the schools did but when everything is said, I’m a Gator.”

This kid sounds like a real keeper. I'm glad we got him, to say the least.

That statement might be germane if:

1. Tomorrow was NSD.

2. UF had not lost commitment from 10 players who at one time or another were committed to the 2019 class. Now some were lost in the transition and one was probably cut by the UF staff, but as you well know committing is NOT signing and even signing is not enrolling.

And even if they enroll they may leave before they have a full semester! Like Steele!

Or they may only make it a semester!

Or they may fail out! John Brown!

Or get injured and never play!

Or have a medical condition and never play!

Or not be good enough and never play!

Or they may get kicked out!

Or leave early to the draft!

Oh My!

:worried:

This is plan d or even e and f. We’re well beyond plan b at running back
He could also be the second back in this class. 4.54/40, 5'8" 195. Very good film, competed at the 8A level. Oh, he also benches 405#.

His highlights look almost exactly like Nayquan Wright
Yep, same build, same hitting the hole quickly, keeps his legs churning and can outrun pretty much everybody. Knighton is also about the same back except 10lbs lighter.

Marvin Scott does not have an offer from UF yet. He has to earn it today.
