Click the MEDIA ICON
Paste the URL to the GIF - You can do this with a ton of other media such as Vines.

Hmmm, that's what I thought, I tried that a few times when I started the thread but just got a invalid message, I'll try it again next time (an original no mama post, relax) and see what happens

Well, technically, a GIF is an image you would use the IMAGE icon.

Ya that is what I think I did... first, I (1) right clicked "copy video url" on the video and then (2) "post a new thread" (3) clicked on the Media icon and (4) pasteD the url but got an invalid message

Right. For a GIF use the IMAGE icon. Not the MEDIA icon.
