$700 Million to play any game..........

Nothing against Ohtani but no one is worth $70 million a year especially with a questionable elbow!

I hope the Dodgers never win another Championship!

If the elbow is OK. Then they got a very good 350 mil hitter and a very good 350 mil pitcher. While I find the contracts insane these days, that seems to be the going price.

It’s only $434,782.60 thousand dollars a game. Dang he’s probably going to have cut back on his spending. At some point this is just stupid. They only need to sell 36,232. Of 12 dollar beers taking 100 percent of the proceeds of that total each game to pay for him. They will have to rape the fans elsewhere to cover the cost of the beers and the staff that served them.

In today's dollars, that is equivalent to a little over 4.2 Million. A drop in the bucket comparatively

I don't even comprehend how baseball even pays these figures any more....stadiums are rarely filled. I guess it adds up with the number of games they have, but it's still insane these salaries

Large market
Wealthy owners
Ohtani's global appeal
Good portion of the deal is deferred
Dodgers are getting two stars for one

I’d like to think I’m worth $70 million a year. High 60’s at least. And both my elbows are fine. Zero questions.

Where does all this money come from? I don't buy "TV revenue". Sports teams worth billions?

I'm starting to think it's a foreign/domestic money laundering thing.

If it's truly from tv revenue, it means all of us are subsiding this BS ( I don't watch pro sports of any kind, but the advertisers still tack on that cost to.products I buy).

Now it's infiltrated college.

In someway, society needs a depression to reset everything.

Have a happy day!

from everything ive read, ohtani will be a DH only next season as his arm needs a full year from this fall before ready to go. maybe that's changed, but this is a hell of a gamble for a possible DH.

Wow 70 million to be a DH! 432,000.00 and change to swing a Baseball Bat. 4-5 at bats a game. Roughly 86000.00 per at bat if he plays every game. Sorry that’s insane. Someone needs their head examined.

The signing bonus also consisted of a bag of oranges and a chest of drawers from Karl Farnham.

 We'll be seeing you at Second City one of these days.
