Not sure if this list from Athlon had a thread yet.

    1. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama
    2. Jake Fromm, Georgia
    3. Kellen Mond, Texas A&M
    4. Feleipe Franks, Florida
    5. Kelly Bryant, Missouri
    6. Joe Burrow, LSU
    7. Jake Bentley, South Carolina
    8. Jarrett Guarantano, Tennessee
    9. Keytaon Thompson, Mississippi State
    10. Matt Corral, Ole Miss
    11. Joey Gatewood, Auburn
    12. Terry Wilson, Kentucky
    13. Ben Hicks, Arkansas
    14. Riley Neal, Vanderbilt

The SEC might be the deepest conference for quarterbacks in 2019. Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa is one of the frontrunners to win the Heisman Trophy this season, and Georgia's Jake Fromm is expected to push for All-America honors. Texas A&M's Kellen Mond, Florida's Feleipe Franks and Missouri's Kelly Bryant round out the top five. The league's depth extends to the middle of the rankings with proven options like South Carolina's Jake Bentley and Tennessee's Jarrett Guarantano.

Ranking the quarterbacks by conference or nationally is no easy task. To help compile the rankings, there was some projection involved for 2019. This was not a ranking of quarterbacks only based on accomplishments so far or pro potential. All factors - pure talent, supporting cast, having a clear hold on the No. 1 position, previous production, 2019 projection and scheme changes (just to name a few) - were considered and projected to rank the quarterbacks in the SEC for 2019.
    -----------------------

I guess that ranking is their view on how good they think the QB will be perceived to be.

    # 1 is pretty obvious and as far as Franks I would probably have him about # 5 or # 6 as I think Bryant should be placed ahead of him going into the season.

Believe it or not SC had the 4th most passing yards per game in the SEC and were like 25th in the FBS I think.

Another surprising stat was Joe Burrow had more rushing yards than Franks and the same amount of rushing TDs.

A year under Mullen and Franks was definitely an improved player. Granted they called the plays that kept him from having to read the defenses too much, but when had to, he showed progress in his check downs.

This year I think we open it up some more. We have the wide receivers, TE's and backs that can catch, so we should be able to get the mismatch and Franks should have good numbers. I also think we will see a few more INT's as we open it up and take more shots down the middle and deep. His final numbers may not be that high as EJ will be playing the whole 4th quarter in mop up duties.

Yep we probably have one of the better WR groups in the country. I would take a few more picks to get the passing opened up more.

My only concern w/ Franks and the WR's this year is the OL giving them time to get open. I'm fine w/ Buchanan and Heggie, but the other three are going to need time to develop. Still surprised we haven't heard anything on a grad transfer coming in.

Yep not sure how Forsythe and Gouraige will hold up against a good pass rush. Gouraige seemed to struggle some with that while playing LT anyway in the spring game and Forsythe seems to have lapses at times also with that.

I think Delance will be the starter opposite Forsythe. Gouraige is our highest rated OL (and Delance is actually 2nd highest). We'll know real quick. Miami has some good athletes on D and they got a couple of DL grad transfers. Their LB group is their strongest position. So, if we hold up well against them I'll feel good moving forward. Hopefully we get out of August & September unbeaten.

Yep Miami has a few of those quick pass rushers. That transfer Hill is really fast running around Tackles. I am sure Mullen will be ready for that with his play calling but things could get a little dicey possibly if we aren't able to run on them pretty easy.

Law, I know what you're getting at, but the guy started every game last year. I'll assume he's gotten a little bigger and stronger and has a full year under his belt as a starting SEC center.

Decided to look at some of the spring game again and Delance was doing alright it appeared. I think the freshman Tarquin (his listed number anyway) was getting ate up at RT but he didn't play football hardly his senior season.

If a 17 yo early entrant freshman RT three weeks into football practice isn't getting eaten up, we need to fire our DEs on the spot.

I bet that Bama kid Williams did alright but he was freakish handling NFL bound guys as a true freshman.
