Cook a couple of weeks worth of breakfast biscuits for Dad. I stuff each one, individual wrap, then put them in a ziplock to freeze.

Blackstone is great for this type of effort.

Made some sausage gravy too. And, of course, homemade buttermilk biscuits.

I love that, JDH! Your dad looks so happy too.

Raining all day so no bricking the sidewalk today. Moved inside to work on wiring and insulation. Probably should have planned out the split HVAC a few weeks ago but this project jumped ahead of the bathroom remodel. Working on sizing the unit now. It's about 600sq ft between two rooms. One room technically can get regular hvac but it's really not enough so this will supplement. Also need heat. Doing research. Soliciting opinions here.

I put in a dyi ductless system (Mr. Cool) in Dads Florida room. 15'x 40' all sliding glass doors (5 sets) facing east. It struggles with spot cooling/healing but does fine if you keep it on auto then crank it down/up as needed. 3 years with zero issues.

Good info. Do you remember how many BTU's. We are still trying to figure out what windows to do but they will be east and south facing. Since it's upstairs it will struggle with the heat in the summer.

MrCool DIY 36k BTU 16 SEER Ductless Heat Pump Split System 3rd Generation - DIY-36-HP-230B • Ingrams Water & Air

The ceilings in the Florida room are 14' tall and unfinished. Its actually the deck upstairs. The floor is also a deck sitting on top of a concrete pad. So I wouldn't use this as an example other than we've had no issues, it was easy to install, it quiet and it super efficient.

Nice - I think something like an 18k is what we need. I'm glad it's worked well for him. I know they are popular in the tropics for zone cooling. It seems appropriate for our needs.
