Redshirt Senior Marcus Jackson, a player with 17 starts and 36 games played, is history.

I don't really revel in player injuries unless it's fsu at this point. Even so, if this dude is a RS SR., he couldn't be that talented.

Good news for us even though I hate it for the guy that got injured. Doesn't matter though, Tennessee is back and stronger than ever!

Sorry to see a kid get hurt. BUT, that is a huge blow to Tinnercee. Oh well. Just keep the injury bug away from UF.

Don't the majority of college O-Lineman redshirt their freshman year? Also, this guy has 17 starts and I thought UT was supposed to have one of the best O-Lines in the league this year.

From the article (thanks brad):

Tennessee guard Marcus Jackson will undergo potential season-ending surgery, leaving the Volunteers without the most experienced member of an offensive line that allowed the most sacks in the Southeastern Conference last year.

...

Tennessee gave up 43 sacks last season. Louisiana-Monroe, Penn State, Wyoming, SMU and Wake Forest were the only Football Bowl Subdivision programs to allow more sacks.

The linemen have spoken throughout the offseason about how their additional experience should help them fare better this fall. Last year, Jackson was the only Tennessee offensive lineman with any career starts. Now he's one of seven linemen with starting experience.

They may be back, but they are still very young with most 'starters' only starting last year. Their OL won't be much ahead of ours.

Any time a team loses a starter it is bad. This is especially true when facing our defense. I want to put all those vols who are talking trash in their place.

Hate it for the guy but not necessarily for UT. I mean come on, does anybody think they felt sorry for us the year we went 4-8 due to all those injuries? Yeah, I thought not. Suck it UT!

Oh, and outstanding use of "Oh Brother" in this thread. Quite appropriate.

My only concern is that we are going to hear...."If we had so-in-so it would've been different."
