I love it and have seen it hundreds of times (I mean, it's only an hour and a half long), I think that's technically from the 70s.

It's on Netflix right now and my son is about tired of me watching it at least once a week.

Could be. I didn't check the release date. It's a great feel good story. A classic epic adventure of a group of misunderstood misfits against an unjust world, that ends up vindicated in the end. It doesn't get any better. Lots of fantastic action and drama.
