I liked the one Marianna had as an avatar for a while.

Trash. I have no idea why anyone would buy anything with that logo on it.

Script for the helmet and the Gator head for most other stuff.
As far as the Fight'n Gator, I never bought into the 2003 version.

A nice change of pace would be the Script on white helmets.

:chomp:

the blue one in 87's post is cool as a shelf piece, maybe a 1 time thing.

I prefer the play on the field change/improve first before even thinking about messing too much with what we've traditionally had. I don't want us to be thought of the same as those programs which perennially are mediocre or just plain suck and get gimmicky just to keep fans and the media from losing interest.

The script helmet came in same time as this
florida_logo2.jpg
in 1979. Trust me, it didn't look right at first; it looked odd, almost cartoonish. No matter what the look, when you change it, it takes time for fans to adjust. I'd personally like to see it ditched for something new, although I'm not certain what that new should be. The Gator head doesn't right for some reason.

I know most of you hate this

, but I kind of like it.

This helmet is a classic and ranks up there with Bama and Penn St
images

However this one looked pretty badass when worn on special occasions

And I could handle the one on the right when I got my freak on, but the white facemask does something weird to the look

Remember this one?

When I was in school at UF, 73-76 seasons. I know it really dates me, but I'm still partial to it. To say that the script logo is "timeless" is a misnomer, as it only dates back to Pell's first year, 1979, and there was a lot of UF time in football before that. I can see how many are still attached to it, but I would prefer to go to the Gatorhead logo. It's mean, it looks like a vicious Gator, and it's not like football fans throughout the South and even the US haven't seen it. It's not like no one would know who we are if we wore it.

That being said, we'll probably stick with the script Gators because of, well, inertia, if not anything else. When we had the coaching change to Muschamp I was hoping for a change to the Gator head, didn't happen. Now with this coaching change, I was thinking maybe now would be the time, but I know it's not gonna happen. Oh well.

Savannah - You raise a good point - coaching changes bring opportunity for a brand update. This year, with a new football AND basketball coach, the timing is ideal for logo change. Maybe they wait until after each coach has a year or two to show positive growth, and that they are the harbingers of a new, positive era.

I remember when they put out the 2003 Fightin' Gator and I was a bit sick to my stomach wondering who cartooned a classic?

I also remember when the gatorhead came out and I felt like it was just a push to drive fan sales, everyone had to update their wardrobes and posters. I associate it with Meyer, because that felt like a change. But it still felt like a money grab decision by the University.
