I haven't been around for a long time, but if I recall correctly didn't Law always remind us he played one good half, and we were all just suffering from wishful thinking when we stated he was obviously a star QB in the making?

True, but to Grier's credit, it's the best looking half of football any QB has had around here since 2009.

I certainly wasn't one of those people. I stated as much when Grier left. He was the closest thing we'd had to a real pocket passing QB since Grossman. He may have bad taste in tattoos and his dad might be a doosh, but his talent has been evident since HS.

I didn't think Jackson was going to get up from that goalline hit.

Josh Jackson looks good. It is WVU defense though

WVU going to lose, but Grier looked solid in his first game back.

VT QB doing some nice things tonight.....WVU DB's = garbage. Grier is not all world by any means but is still much better than anything we got or have had in 7 years......about what I expected.

I don't understand the need to go that deep on the third-down throw.

Fourth-down run. :faint:

Will Grier is a hell of a college QB and he is playing in a much, much, much more fun/exciting offense. He's going to put up pinball numbers there before his career is over with.

Meanwhile in Gainesville, our QB/QBs will be lucky to put up 150+ vs. any quality opponent.

Coaching....

Not perfect, but I think we all can see Grier attacks the defense. He makes his reads, makes a decision and acts on it.

Receiver should have had the second-down throw in the endzone. Grier played lights out considering he's been away two years.

And the redshirt freshman QB for Va Tech played a hell of a game.

I was very impressed with VT's QB tonight for being his first game. He took what the defense gave him and didn't turn the ball over, used his legs when he needed to but didn't try to do too much. Solid kid.
