I meant organizationally and bringing in good players though one could argue he created a large payroll but in areas that do not naturally improve on-field play. There's so much to improve, and I don't know if he and his staff can correct all of it. Really.I am not sure how can say he's built a good foundation. We lose to any teams with an offensive pulse. I don't think he and his staff know how to ID the right players and develop the ones he has recruited.
1-7 not at homehis buyout,
i will add, i was never a Nappy fan, His offensive scheme just plain sucks, barely worked in the Sun Belt, damn sure doesn't translate to a Power 5 conference.
He inherited a complete clusterfuch of a program. He's doing the right things behind the scene in regards to off field improvements,, more analysts to help out (not sure when they start to have an impact...? ) getting HIS recruits blah blah
The problem is, his staff.. and him, he's a lousy OC, we've all said he needs to hire an OC, if he wants to survive here, it is imperative he does it NOW. and then get the fuch out of the guy's way and don't try to throttle him with a ball control , TOP of possession scheme, score and don't stop scoring.. He brought his Sun Belt staff with him, there is a reason they were in the Sun Belt and not at a Power 5 school.. and with the 2nd year of them here, is shows they aren't up to the job of coaching these kids at this level.
Bottom line, everything he does off field is for naught if the doesn't have the staff to get the W on Saturdays. and that's where we are. If he goes down the Mullet road of sticking with his 'friends' (yea,, they have better character than Grantham and Heavesey..) this team won't be able to compete in the SEC. He needs to get better coaches,, get the OC and ST coach, , be the CEO
This X1000.....now sprinkle in loads of game mismanagement, no preparation. no inspiration, no creativity and the talent level/development will start to leave skid marks circling the bowl while the better players go elsewhere.I am not sure how can say he's built a good foundation. We lose to any teams with an offensive pulse. I don't think he and his staff know how to ID the right players and develop the ones he has recruited.
Slingblade operates in a different time zone. Slower. Way slowerAnd today Auburn, Ole Miss and Georgia running high octane pass games, going for it, being successful. Ours seems mistake prone and ultimately conservative.
Then bring back "Gator Bait" and move "Won't Back Down" to the end of the 1st quarter.This. If and when Slingblade gets the axe, he should be preceded by Stricklin. And Sasse should personally physically kick Foley's ass all the way off campus and tell him to never set foot on it again. We'll mail him his chit.
10 years later and here we are. Fans and media are all morons who don’t know ball. Feels all too familiar.

He is a less enthusiastic version of Muschamp.
Good recruiter, schitty head coach.
I have no idea if hiring an OC would do any good, Billy strikes me as the type who would still try to meddle in the play calling and game planning.
Here’s a good way of looking at it. If his contract included clauses that if his experiments as OC and QB coach could ultimately cost him money and his family would be severely impacted, do you think he’d have changed by now? If he even chose to go that route at all? Of course not. That would directly hurt him. I really hate that it keeps coming to this, but the unbridled criticism is absolutely warranted because he’s choosing to do this and drag UF football through the mud. And do you know why? Because he’s getting paid regardless and couldn’t possibly care any less. That’s why you see the vitriol. These are self inflicted wounds and he’s ok with it.

I kinda wonder when OX is going to get off the Billy train...
