Interesting that this article claims sling blade made a run at front butt jr for OC. I don't remember seeing that anywhere else, but if true that says he is at least trying to find an upgrade at OC.

You guys probably haven’t noticed, but I’ve not been the biggest Napier fan of late. That said, his winning 7 wins next year would mean him likely holding serve at home and beating at least 3 teams he, on paper, shouldn’t, including probably all of our rivals except uga. In that scenario, if he can parlay it into a late recruiting surge and assuming Lagway is happy and ready to take the reins, even I’d be ok letting things play out for a 4th.

If he somehow gets to 7 wins with next year's schedule I'm fine with him getting a year 4 and Lagway as the starter. I think there's a better chance at Whoopi Goldberg suddenly turning into a supermodel, but miracles do happen.

How we feel depends on how the team looks. UF lost 3 games by 3 points or less last season. Let's say 1 or 2 plays had gone differently and we had won those games and been 8-4. Would we be excited going into this upcoming year because of that record? Of course not, because the team didn't really look that hot.

I'd rather look like a real competitive up-and-comer that put some scares into some top teams and be 6-6 than be eking out a 9-3 pile of crap. Either way, UF isn't competing for any championships next year. How we look is going to matter more than the actual amount of games won.

If the product on the field looks like garbage, regardless of the record it's still garbage. Chump went 11-1 in the regular season, but the product looked like garbage on offense. Were you really that excited?

With the undiscipline play, ridiculous organizational penalties and head scratching clock management. It's all about the product on the field, I would rather a 7-5 team that looks well coached and actually has an identity, then a team like we had in 2012 where we knew that all the luck was on our side for one season. The record isn't as important as how we look. But a losing record for the third year in a row, it won't matter what we look like.

Last year we had more games looking like a clusterfuch (even in our wins) than we should have in year 2. But Napier was always going to get through 2023.... the problem is he wore out a lot of good will by how his teams looked on the field. I would rather us have a strong showing and he be the guy, then us having to cut bait rinse and repeat. If we are doing that then we need to do a house cleaning above him.

Exactly.
A well coached team doesn't need heroics to win a damn game. It's easy to tune in and watch well coached teams all across the country, every damn Saturday in the fall. We all know what that looks like and we all know, the Gators are NOT a well coached team.
The problem for me is, we DID look like a well coached team in Napiers very first game. Utah in the Swamp.
It's been down hill every since.
Why?????

I don't get it. Is it the players just not buying in?
Is it the coaching staff that just can't establish any kind of momentum?
Is Billy just not a good head coach?

Whatever the issues, we look lost, out of position, and uninspired.
Given what the media has been putting out since ESD, the entire country sees what we see.

I don't see it changing either.
