I thought I had seen in the past where redshirted players played in bowl games. Maybe I didn't. Or if I did maybe they were New Year's Day bowl games. I don't know.
He can't play..
He is in a sit out year that the NCAA upheld in an appeal for it to be waived...not a redshirt year.
J, you know he can't play in the bowl game. Quit trolling man.I knew he had to sit out due to a transfer rule but I didn't know if the "unplayable year" was the same as red shirts.
Sure redshirts can play in the bowl game, but it burns their redshirtI thought I had seen in the past where redshirted players played in bowl games. Maybe I didn't. Or if I did maybe they were New Year's Day bowl games. I don't know.
OK sorry Im skimming backwards. No Delrio cant play. He has to sit out an academic year and the bowl game is part of the academic year, despite 2016 being on the calendar. Can he play in the bowl game?
I did, and a "Drizzy" pick six or two would've lost that one for us, the same way it did countless times when he was here.Did you watch FAU almost kick our derriere?
Sophomore Anderson Proctor will be the starter at QB next year. Book it!!!
I'd like one too, but at this point it doesn't look like we will have one.Am I the only one that wants to vomit at the thought of a serviceable, game manager, type QB being our best option for next year? I don't want a game manager anymore....I want a baller!
Here is my preference for our QB going forward.
1. I want a QB taller than 6'. They need to see over the LOS and see the entire field.
2. I want a Pro style QB that can run if they have to and sometimes throw it away.
3. I want a QB that understands the system and we are not expanding the playbook as the season goes along.
4. I want a QB that can read a Defense and check out of a play.
5.. I want a QB that loves to compete and hates to lose. They need that winning sprit and ability to motivate the team around him.
Bonus wants
1. I want a QB that doesn't wear number 12. The last great Gator QB and only if my memory serves me right to wear 12 is Kerwin Bell.
2. I want a QB that is a son of a preacher. The last three starting QBs for Florida that were preacher son's brought us titles, Heismans, and statues outside the stadium.
Three Freshman QB's in the same class, at least 2 of them top 10 alpha types, is a recipe for disgruntled players and ultimately multiple transfers. I'd prefer to stick with Del Rio as likely starter then let Trask and Franks battle it out in the Spring, with one backup and one RS for 2016. Then in 2017 enter Allen, Del Rio still has a year of eligibility, Franks and Trask have a year and a half in the system. Even w/o getting Haskin's or a transfer it's going to be crowded for QB's by 2017-2018 so adding more just assures some of them leave early with the possibility of a split locker room. The players and recruits are recruiting Haskins pretty hard. They just hired Arkansas state's oc. There may be an outside shot with him.
Taking 3 guys may result in a transfer or two but I still think you take as many top QB's as you can. You never know who is going to pan out, regardless of stars. I think we are going to have a surprising running game next year.A game manager QB only works when you have all the other positions taken care of the highest level. We don't.
Del rio is working on his 3rd transfer and there's been some conflicting reports about how good he is. Franks is a guy we all really like but he's pretty raw and doesn't appear to be ready. Haskins is a would be good enough to compete day one and our recruits seem to love the guy. We need more guys to compete for the job. Numbers work in your favor. Who cares who transfers if we get the right guy. Fsu has been signing 1 or 2 top qb's every year and as a result they have their pick at wr. I don't think we're gonna get Haskins anyhow buy I would imagine that mac would take him and it would be a smart move.Three Freshman QB's in the same class, at least 2 of them top 10 alpha types, is a recipe for disgruntled players and ultimately multiple transfers.
