DEFENSIVE TACKLE

91) Aubrey Solomon: After a January visit to Florida, Solomon left campus saying the Gators were his leader. Since then Florida isn’t mentioned as much as schools like Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia.

107) Fred Hansard: This four-star big man is looking to visit Florida this summer, which will be his first ever visit to campus. The Gators have been aggressively recruiting him and recently were named in his top nine.

196) MJ Webb: The Gators last hosted Webb on campus for a Junior Day in January. He’s tried to return to campus since then, but has always had something come up. Auburn and South Carolina are in a better place currently, but he says he will visit Florida again before the end of summer.

238) Breyon Gaddy: Florida recently offered both Breyon and his twin brother Brandon. The two hope to play at the same college - with Tennessee the team to beat currently. He hopes to visit Florida in the summer.

DEFENSIVE END

20) Jarez Parks: Alabama, Florida and Florida State seem to be the biggest players early on to land Parks. Many schools are after the five-star defender, but he doesn’t to seem to have the slightest bit of interest in his recruiting process thus far.

62) Zachary Carter: This four-star recently narrowed down his list of options to four, which include Clemson, Florida, Tennessee, and South Florida. The Gators seem to be the leader in the clubhouse.

180) Luiji Vilain: Florida stopped by to see this four-star twice during the spring evaluation period. He named the Gators in his recent top five and hopes to make his first ever visit to Florida in the summer.

LINEBACKER

120) Tyler Taylor: This four-star visited Florida for the Gators spring football game. Georgia and Tennessee seem to be in a better place to land him at the moment.

122) K.J. Britt: The Gators hosted this newly minted four-star on a visit earlier this spring. In his recent top 10 he had Georgia and Auburn on top, with the Gators in third.

DEFENSIVE BACK

8) A.J. Terrell: This newly minted five-star is high on Florida's defensive back board. If you talk to people close to Terrell they say the Gators are currently the team to beat.

16) Shaun Wade: This five-star has kept lines of communication open with many schools despite his commitment to Ohio State. Alabama and Florida seem to be the schools in the best place to pull off a flip.

48) Devon Hunter: This four-star visited Gainesville earlier this spring where he had preexisting connections to Torrian Gray dating back to his time at Virginia Tech. He is also high on the Hokies and Clemson as well.

57) Xavier McKinney: After Florida hosted McKinney on campus for a Junior Day earlier this year he left speaking highly of the Gators. He has yet to return to Gainesville, and now seems even more solid with Alabama coming off a visit to Tuscaloosa.

72) Cyrus Fagan: Despite an early commitment to Florida State, the Gators have kept in touch with Fagan. He aims to visit Gainesville sometime this summer or possibly for a few games this fall.

85) Demmodore Lenoir: This four-star defensive back was offered by Florida in the spring. He named the Gators on his recent list of top schools and wants to take an official visit in the fall. The smart money is on him staying out West.

112) Grant Delpit: This four-star recently transferred from Texas to IMG Academy in Florida. He last visited Gainesville for the Gators spring football game. Perhaps his closer proximity will benefit UF as they look for their first signee from IMG Academy.

129) Marco Wilson: This is the younger brother of current Gators defensive back Quincy Wilson. He has yet to name a solid group of leaders but Florida and Miami seem to be the early main contenders.

143) Hamsah Nasirildeen: This four-star is seen as a defensive back by the Gators. He last visited for the Florida spring game back in April. Alabama and Florida stick out currently.

144) Deangelo Gibbs: Florida hosted Gibbs on campus earlier this spring, and like him at the safety position. He has family ties to Tennessee and they seem to be the team in the best place to land him at this time.

207) Christopher Henderson: Despite his early commitment to Miami the Gators are in a good place to pull off a flip. He’s visited Gainesville multiple times in the past and plans to return again sometime in the summer.

220) Brian Edwards: This four-star landed an offer from the Gators after his performance in Florida's recent 7-on-7 tournament on campus. He hasn’t named any top schools, but noted the Gators are in high contention.

221) Markquese Bell: Florida hosted this four-star back in March while he was down for a 7-on-7 tournament. He plans to return to Florida again this summer with his 7-on-7 team yet again, and also will take an official visit to Gainesville in the fall. You have to like the Gators chances a lot more if they get all three visits under their belts.

235) Elijah Blades: This west coast defensive back is coming off a visit to Florida this past weekend. He plans to return for an official visit when the Gators host LSU this fall. Arizona, Utah, and Nebraska are also in contention.

Great, a few DTs (none with us as a leader), no true inside backers and a long list of DBs.

It's like Will Duncecap never left.

This is the Rivals 250. I fully expect us to go JUCO for a third DT, which won't show up on here. As for LB, who the **** knows, but we are expected to take 4 DBs

We're getting "smoked" again for the big time DT/LB's Whenever we should be killing it at both positions (especially LB) since we have zero depth. I don't know WTF Shannon is doing on the trail but it sure as hell isn't working!!!

It would appear the only assistant doing his job recruiting is Gray.

2 targeted backers with our depth chart boggles the mind.

This is a recent breakdown by Derek Tyson. Nate McBride must have dropped us at some point.

#6 5* Baron Browning OLB https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/85
#79 4* Justin Foster OLB https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/96
#250 4* Nathan Proctor OLB https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/1966
N/R 3* Walter Grant ILB https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/maple/188176

Grant is the only one close to us (Georgia). Not sure what the deal is with FL LB's, but there are three 4* OLB's in the Miami area. One is committed to Bama, one to Miss St, and the other is undecided. We are in the running for Dylan Moses (5*), but he is at IMG, so that's out.

This is just kids in the top 250/300 that we're on, there are obviously others that we're in on. If we can get a handful of the top 300, then add a few others we shouldn't be in too bad shape w/ this class. Again, this will be a smaller class. We'll probably only sign 10-12 defensive players.

A handful is how many? You do realize that the bulk of our classes have always been from that 1-300 pool of kids. Why are you suddenly lowering the bar for this staff?

No it hasn't man! I'm usually w/ you on your comments/posts.

Again, as I said in the other thread....do the math. If 30 schools sign 10 that's the entire Top 300. It's unrealistic! So we get 20...how many does Alabama, Ohio State, FSU, LSU, Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, USC, Oregon, Tennessee, etc get?? There are always going to be 3-stars in every class. Even at Bama....

I started to go through each class and check. The first couple almost all of the kids were 250 or higher. I guess I'll go through each one and get a number. I've posted similar numbers about 4/5 stars and their make up if each class. Until recently we always had 4/5 stars as the bulk of every single class. You're wrong.

Rex, there are only 300. If we get 25....then that means Bama's gonna get 30....and Ohio State will get at least 25....then FSU will get as many as we do....and UGA is usually right up there w/ us....and USC....and Clemson.....and LSU. By your math, the "Top 300" has 500 recruits?? Where did you learn math like that?
