ESPN announcer said it was a 91 mph fastball, looked a little up and away. Not a pitch from Nolan Ryan, but a bit more than than BP. Happy for Tim. Now, with that said, can some of the younger generation (or older if applicable) explain why there is so much loathing of Tim? Especially from some Gator fans (this I don't get).
Reason you'll hear on this site: People hate Christians.

Actual reason: Fatigue from nonstop coverage of anything he does.

He is a Christian and many would rather worship Bruce Kardashian.

Thanks, Sas. I know there are thoughts to the contrary, but I have a hard time believing that he asks for all of the coverage.

"You will be hated because of me..." (Matthew 10:22
Signed, Jesus

"The world hates you. Keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as it's own. As it is you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." (John 15:18-19)
Again signed, Jesus

There is a reason the world embraces much of what it does and openly despises Tebow and everything he stands for. Media coverage fatigue having some, but very little to do with it.

I'm sure he doesn't, but that doesn't stop people from getting sick of it.

And yet, of all the other athletes who thank God and are openly religious, who get a fraction of the media exposure Tebow does, nobody hates them. Odd, isn't it?

How many of those other athletes you speak of played on the center stage during 2 NCs and has never done anything negative news wise and is still a self professed virgin? The world hates him. If he would go get drunk and knock up some tramp he probably could have been a top tier QB in the NFL.

Perhaps... But there is also a clear distinction from those who "talk the talk" vs. those who "walk the walk." Timmy clearly lives out what he believes and I can think of few others who do so to the degree that he does. Think about it, there are very few people in this world that when you think of that person, an immediate association is made with that persons deep seated faith. Tim, by word and deed, has earned that reputation.

There are very few people whose very name is so closely associated with Christianity itself. You don't have to accept what I'm saying as gospel truth. I just happen to believe that there is a connection between the generalized dislike of Tim Tebow and his lived out faith...

He literally got a chance with four different franchises. Four! Including with the Patriots, whose coach is famous for giving misfits a chance to make it in his system. If he was good enough to be an NFL quarterback, he'd still be an NFL quarterback.

Another reason people can't stand Tebow is because of the fans who won't STFU about him being hated because he's Christian and he's being blackballed from the NFL for the same reason. Give it a rest, already.

:rolleyes4: Let's not send this to the political forum.

Hopefully he keeps hitting and tears it up.

I think Dan's comment was more in jest... at least that's the way I took it.

Timmy is a Gator Great, a COLLEGE FOOTBALL LEGEND, and a failed NFL QB. I don't think his washing out of the NFL had anything to do with his evangelistic faith.... though... I suppose some may actually believe that.

But that wasn't Cover's original question. He asked why all the loathing for Tim Tebow? That I do believe is because of the nature of his evangelistic faith.

Actual reason: blah blah blah
Yes, and the fact that the haters correlate exactly with those who hate every other Christian or those who are most likely to cut their dicks off and start wearing high heels is just a coincidence.

Thanks Obama.
Not his fault. It's global warming's fault.

Though the ozone deficiency will probably add some distance to Tebow's crushing long ball. Many more home runs to come for our Gator Great!

It is laughable that this happened. It does seem too satirical to be real. I hope he makes a long career out of it, though I'll hate to lose him as an SEC commentator. I love hearing his thoughts on the games.
