This knocks out Tenn for a few years. We really have chance to own the east now for a while.

Did Hurd get Butchwhacked ?

I'm all for us "window-shopping" UT's recruits and possibly high-star Freshmen. UT doesn't deserve them.

Now to bring the SEC-West more in line with the SEC-East, some West school should be required
to hire Foley to be their AD ??

@shaepeppler: Told by TN insider that barring an epic collapse (0-4 in final 4 games), Butch Jones job is safe. More to come later on @CampusInsiders

I certainly hope so. I don't want them getting off that easy. They need to mire a few years in disarray, plagued by arbitrary staff changes, transfers and down recruiting classes before the eventual plug is pulled.

It is amazing how rapidly this demise happened. After beating UF, they pull off a miracle win at UGA on the last play. Then after A&M appears to have beaten them, they get an incredible turnover and appear to be some freaky team of destiny. Gary Danielson says the words "pixie dust" during that game at least 5 times. Yet, Dobbs throws a pick late and that seems to break whatever spell they had on the football world.

The crash since that time has been nothing short of spectacular. How does a coach lose a team in 3 weeks?

But his job is safe. I love it. Give Butch a 30yr extension!

How wonderful that would be. Better yet, both Tinerc and USC will need ADs soon and Fooley is fresh out of work.

The whole thing has been a facade. He is a really good salesman, nothing more. In my entire life, I've never seen any coach do as many commercials, photo-ops, trendy gifs, etc. as Jones has. At some point, you've promised and promised and promised, and people actually start to expect things to be as you suggested they would. When it doesn't happen, they realize they've been had, it goes south quickly.

I mean, look at this clown. Guy has Monavie written all over him.

The UT BOD need to force Hart out now and hire someone, hopefully Blackburn

Hart needs to stay away from hiring anyone else

He will step down from the podium, but he's the kinda guy that strikes me as having to be FIRED and won't just "step down".

Go Gators!

Now's when it would be entertaining to have Alvie Dork around for a week, then ban his arse again...

I see what you're saying, but they DID beat UF for the first time in over a decade. They DID pull off a miracle win at UGA. And they made the game at A&M closer than it had any business being. It looked like the players had finally started to buy in. And then it falls apart in 3 weeks to the point that players are quitting mid-season?

My guess is the reason why they stopped playing Hurd is because he was getting outplayed by a freshman WR this year. But this isn't so much about Hurd leaving as it is that the program is starting to fall apart. Players and fans are frustrated and they are starting to lose faith in Butch. The only reason why they had a decent start of the season is because Jones had hired some good assistants that made him look better, and Dobbs inexplicably had the best game of his life against us. I still don't understand how we lost to these losers.
