A Glimmer of Hope?

Not to get too optimistic and mess up my name, but I actually have to admit that every now and then a little ray of hope pokes through the clouds. Every now and then I see our offensive line & Scarlett pick up that 3rd & 3, eerily resembling, dare I dream, Bama. Seeing the defensive leaders, Anzalone & Davis go down, and up pop two more future Studs, a True Freshman & a Red shirt Fr. The offensive line falling like dominoes and in steps another True Freshman and a Red shirt Fr.

And then I see the Depth Chart for the LSU game:

https://floridagators.com/news/2016/11/14/football-gators-release-depth-chart-for-lsu.aspx

A lot of young guys getting Huge playing time and then I hear it, whispering at first and then a roaring hurricane, "WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR!". Oh well, even Grumpy Ole Gator's can occasionally enjoy a moment of optimism. Go Gators!

The Dline, LBs and OL will be the keys to the game. If they can keep LSU's offense off the field we have a shot.

I think we are going to be okay in this game! I feel that we are going to play like our hair is on fire and the only way to put it out is hitting the heck out these guys. We see that the SEC East is ours with a win, we heard all the $#!T talk from the corndogs because of the hurricane, and everyone in the world is against us. These are big motivators for us. But I will tell you this. If we allow a damn Corndog fake kick decide this game I swear my :pumper:pumper status will be in hiatus.

I agree that we have a shot if we play with real emotion.
Just one problem, when was the last time this team played with real emotion?

Last Saturday in the first half...we came out like the walking dead in the 2nd though.

This is big for Mac with me. A win and there is a glimmer of hope. If we roll over then he's 90% done here IMHO. Same thing with FSU next week. Win some huge games you're not supposed to for once or twice. Show us what you got coach.

It is time that Coach Mac and his staff turn it up a notch. Time to see what they have. If the team plays well and with passion and they appear to have good game plan, it should be a great game, win or lose. But if the players and coaches stumble and roll over as they did vs. Arky., then it becomes obvious that this staff will only be able to compete vs.a very weak SEC East.

Almost everybody here has said or has thought that if we had Davis and crew back from injury we would stand a chance stopping their run game but now we are literally paper thin at numerous positions and Mac needs to finally show us what hes got. This is not an excuse its reality. If we were playing with a healthy team I would agree that there are no excuses. I think our defense will be exposed due to injuries.

I think they'll play with emotion. LSU folks called Gators cowards. Finebaum keeps saying LSU will be fired up for revenge. Revenge for what? Getting a home game instead of playing in the Swamp? In my opinion the Gators will be every bit as fired up.

I'm pretty sure Thompson has to sit out the first half. If so I see us kicking at the start if we win the toss of course.
Something Mac has done I think only once or maybe twice in his time here.

After seeing the Gators come out flat so many times and lay such big eggs in big games the last few years I am under no illusions that THIS is the game they finally put it all together. And when you add in all the injuries, our coach's inability to adjust mid-game and our propensity to let teams walk all over us in the second half I'm fearing they will start to give up 5 minutes in to the 3rd quarter.

I'm thinking many here see the back-ups stepping up as an "I told you so" to this
HC & coaching staff -- that is, this is how you bulid a winning program. This gives UF
an excitable team of fun, a broad-based family of over-achievers. This sort of success
activates UF's recruiting pitch. If players project no enthusiasm on the field, on TV, then
that repels recruits' from wanting to come here.

However, it is "self-fulfilling philossiphy" to broadcast an HC philosophy that repetitively states:

"I was just happy to see him put his helmet on right." { said about likely the greatest CFB
FG kicker, Peneiro."}

"Isn't that a beautiful sky to play football under; we're just happy to be here."

"Choices have consequences.You gotta challenge yourself." { meaning no challenging by coaches?}

{Playing on the road, in BR} "Our guys should look forward to it. BR is a great venue, guys"
--- yeah let that soak in to fire you up guys.??

"Different things motivate different guys." { so an HC ain't to aim their motivation vs the opponent?}

{How'd AA do?} Yeah, he did okay. That's a good thing, isn't it?" { coach on fire}

{on backups stepping up big-time} "Maybe that's something that shows it is what it is?"

{ Coach Mac never panics = no sense of urgency = well, that goes with not urging on your players.}

Mac is so Zen ... but let me tell ya = I've seen all the statues of Buddha: he don't stand for anything.
Mac has to stop slouching 'neath his Hindu hindrance & get that monk(ey) off UF's back. Make all
believe there's so much at stake = wins, titles, coaching jobs, personal pride, FB careers, recruits.
Go Gators in BR = By back-ups' empowering all Gators & our dim-witted coaches, hit'em hard.

Thompson's penalty was in the first half last week. He's good this week.

A glimmer of hope and maybe we can "win a game we shouldnt win" vs a dumpster fire medioce LSU with an interim head coach who doesnt speak English?

GTFO. If HC cant win these games he has no business being an HC. If we were satisfied with a 4-5 loss coach who couldnt beat anyone but the directional schools, we could have saved money and kept Chimp.
