Last one of this endless offseason.

The weighted criteria:

1) 40% Performance on the field
2) 20% Leadership
3) 10% How it all translated to the team
4) 20% Conduct off the field
5) 10% National attention brought to the program

I'm probably going to catch flak over naming Harvin while not naming John Reaves, Fred Taylor, Cris Collinsworth or Louis Oliver. The first eight came automatically. The last two were a struggle. Enjoy.

If that's your criteria than it really isn't even close. It's Tim and then everyone else

Wuerffel's conduct off the field wasn't as good as Tebow's? What about four SEC titles, a national and a Heisman? What about his doing it through example rather than being demonstrative? What about his doing it with not nearly the physical skills of Tebow?

I think Wuerffel is the most compelling college football player of my lifetime, which is why I voted for him.

C'mon, man, you know why he's there. Best weed on the team.

It is really 1a and 1b. One guy won four championships and is clearly 1a. Even 1b would agree, I suspect. I doubt that will ever be matched.

Wuerffel-
My favorite player? Yep. Compelling? Yep. All around good dude? Yep. 4! SEC titles? Yep. National Title? Yep. Heisman? Yep. The best choice using your given parameters? Tebow.

Harvin:

1) Performance on the field Spectacular
2) Leadership Meh
3) How it all translated to the team Huge. Tell me we win either '06 or '08 without him, esp the '08 game on the ankle
4) Conduct off the field Let's talk about something else
5) National attention brought to the program Lots
6) A player not named Del Rio Bingo

OK
Step 1: Read '78's question and given parameters. Check
Step 2: Answer question, keeping in mind said parameters. Check

Are you placing too much emphasis on off the field? If so, why wouldn't Wuerffel measure up?

Danny was a great player, leader, and man but Tim's physical ability just took it to another level.

It's not even debatable. Tebow brought more attention to the program than anyone else. Still does.
