Did anyone else notice that our second string DT's are 241 and 261 pounds? Slayton and Conliffe need to get caught up quickly. We will get destroyed if Clark or Bryon goes down and they aren't ready.

It's quite frightening how young that secondary is.

What I see when I look at that defensive depth chart is this. The fact that we have one freshman starting, and several others--according to camp reports--already pushing for playing time, and moving past guys like JTaylor and Putu, says what so many of us have said regarding recruiting and the importance of landing the best talent. It's not out of the question that every single secondary position, outside of Dawson, could have a true freshman starting by year's end. And that's because we finally landed elite talent there. Hopefully Mac see that and adjusts his "hidden gem" approach, especially at the skill positions.

And Massey's inability to beat out Powell, and by all accounts having a disappointing Fall, combined with Thompson's "bust" label being all but mailed in at this point, should have Mac second guessing the JUCO route there as well. I realize we needed depth, and had to get creative, but the success ratio of these types is pretty telling.
