The point is that people tend to be very judgmental about the rules that others break, but fail to see their own discrepancies.

The players tried to find a way to manipulate the system top get money they did not earn or deserve. That is not very different than many posters on this board accepting pay for time spent doing non-work related things.

Both are wrong. Neither are as serious as some on this board would make one end of it seem.

Dude you are all about spin. So you are comparing cost of business (which most major companies assume with Salary employees) to felony credit card fraud. That is your argument?

It would be very difficult to find a post of mine that was angry in tone. There could be one out there somewhere, but it would be rare. I tend not to get upset or start calling people names when they disagree with me. It's a big world. Lots of room for differing opinions.

The individuals that demand everyone think like them are the ones you have to worry about.

A good argument doesn't need to be embellished. The one player that used stolen information to pay his rent may be charged with a felony, although I have not heard that yet.

Which players have been charged with a felony?

Oh I agree, you stick to the calm, cool company line almost every time. But this one's another story....

I hope they don't read it at work and reply on company time. The board will blow up about former players still thieving. Of course, it will all be Mac's fault.

If you see anger or insult in that post, it wasn't intended that way. Simply pointing out the irony of people committing a minor, common infraction demanding heads because someone else committed a minor, common infraction.

2222 quiet for a while, but he has his UAA marching orders now, huh?

Yeah, buying buying Playstations and computers then reporting the card stolen and denying making the charge is alot like surfing the web or taking personal calls at work for an hourly employee. Its nothing.

Just dozens of felonies. You boys must be pretty confident that you intimidated the prosecutors office enough. We will see.
You UAA toolbags were also pretty confident about Sharif and the Grier NCAA appeals also.

I guess we are now Free Computers/Video Games U. Youre disgusting. The whole athletic department and UAA needs to be flushed. It is one large pus filled wart.
gross

No, I see an emotional response triggered from a poster perfectly dressing you down. When I read it, I cringed. You're normally a lot better than that; its always total spin, but typically a lot more professionally presented.

Slick, I don't think any of us want to lose... but to say that our players committed credit card fraud, but it's no big deal is a joke.

You should go back and read that series of threads again. I was replying to someone that simply said they were forwarding the post to former players. I fail to see how that is "dressing me down" in any way at all, much less perfectly. To each their own.

Language is powerful. Credit card fraud, and that is what it is, sounds pretty evil. Accepting pay for work when you were not working is fraud as well. See how it sounds so much more evil when it is stated that way - "People on this board are committing fraud through the very act of posting indignation at others committing fraud".

It is what it is.

No the problem is we have been down this road before, have seen how other coaches have handled it at UF. This isn't being handled well by the current administration (which is more than just the coaching staff). In two years McElwain has had 14 arrests, we are potentially looking at 10 more depending on how this is handled. Its' not a good look.
