You're right that they have definitely improved against the run. The only question is how much? South Carolina isn't exactly known for having a great running game, and UK's first two games were against Sally Sue Tech and Ann Marie Central.

Our last game was against an opponent ranked last in Run D giving up and average of 275 per game. Gators ran for only 168 and one of those was a 75 yarder.

I don't have a lot of confidence in our run game, but would LOVE to see us run the ball successfully against UK.

we are two evenly-matched teams talent-wise. It will come down to coaching. Butters shyts himself on the road and Kitties are far better than Arky.

According to Will Miles:

UF average * rating of our offensive starters = 3.5
Ky = 2.9

On Defense UF starters = 3.6
Ky = 3.1

He said that's based on 24/7 sports recruiting rankings.

Don't believe me? Start @21:35

Those ut defensive numbers are probably a little skewed based on the GT game in week 1. The triple option is brutal to defend. Not dismissing the stat entirely, but it will probably even out a little over time.

Having said that, what bothered me was the fact that it was widely known and discussed that the edges were the vols' weak point, and the GT game confirmed that. Yet aside from Thompson's one run and Davis' long run, it seemed like we, again and again, tried running into the teeth of the defense, rather than around it. So I think the talent and ability are there. The problem is our staff having the foresight to create an offensive gameplan that makes sense.

Can't remember if this was supposed to be a positive post or negative post. But yeah..:lol:

I hate to see my beloved Gators lose, but I think UK ends the streak 17-14.

No outcome to this game would surprise me with the exception of either team scoring more than 30 points. That said, I think we win a close one because we simply always beat UK, we have more talented players, and Stoops is basically another Butch Jones. Plus I do think the UT win helped boost several players' confidence and morale. That is unless Mac sucked that all away with his Eeyore demeanor.

If there was ever a year this is it. It's a streak for a reason though. LOL

I think it'll be a close, ugly win, yet leaving us with no hope the offense will ever turn it around. Sounds familiar...

We have some ass whoopings in the near future. This is the worse team in macs tenure here and we all know winning like this ain't sustainable. That being said, Kentucky will find a way to give us this one.

Jeebus. You pepole are predicting 30-40 points for us? I doubt we score that in the month.

I'm thinking something like 27-13 Gators
or 23-13 Gators is more realistic. Barring KR & PR gator scores.

For one, no f'n way KY scores that much on us. No way. Second, you say the teams are evenly matched on talent and it comes down to coaching. Do you honestly see Stoops as that great of a coach? I'm not pumping butters, I'm seriously questioning your assessment of Stoops. You must be high.
