How many freshman, true freshman OL did LSU have playing yesterday?
I believe I heard they said 3 for LSU and we had 2 or maybe 3 on our DL.

So you're surprised our guys didn't whip them? Cause, you know, we're Florida?

Played at JMU’s baseball field in college for summer ball. Good times were had in the Shenandoah Valley, even though I stayed in New Market (if you even know where that is lol).

You played in the summer league? Our cabin is near Basye, near Bryce Resort (the Mt. Jackson exit....which is about 10 miles north of the New Market exit). I spend a lot of time out that way (when I can get out of the city).

Thanks Jeremy Foley for showing me there was other sports to watch out there besides football, like women's lacrosse and softball etc. I used to spend all my time watching, dreaming, thinking about football, that I didn't know these other fine sports even existed. Since Foley single handily tanked what use to be a juggernaut of a football program, I've discovered that we play more exciting sports than football at the University of Florida. Jeremy Foley your the greatest!

It would be hilarious if someone would say something to this effect to Foley at some public event or fundraiser event, since he refuses to step away completely from the athletic program. He probably wouldn't even know the person was being sarcastic and would take it as genuine. Lol

I expect to hear you and your section screaming FIRE MAC!
I've never been one to send emails or letters to the AD. I sincerely doubt he reads them anyway. But just for my own benefit I am going to send one if nothing other than to vent my frustrations.

Yup, played in the Valley League. I’ve been out that way as well- one of the host families had a cabin on the mountain. Those summers were an absolute blast even though New Market has about 1 light and 3 restaurants lol.

JMU fields were really nice though, especially for a relatively unknown school (for sports at least).

People will say bringing in a new coach will cost us upwards of 20 million with all the buyouts and new contracts. I argue, keeping this staff will cost us way more than 20 million in the long run.

Totally agree. This thing is 2-3 years away from competing IF we have a clean sweep this off-season. If not, we're 5+ seasons. The only thing keeping Butters does (besides driving this program further into the ground) is save some cash in the short-term. And that's short sighted by our athletic department.

Good luck eventually runs out. UT and UK victories were just that. Mac has won against subpar SEC East teams with poor coaching and has yet to win, let alone compete, against a legit national contender. Yeah, all obvious I know but had to get it off my chest.
It's not only the X's and O's but also a culture issue. No accountability for the coaching staff or players, no sense of urgency and it seems everyone is going through the motions. I don't blame the players- this starts with the head coach and trickles down to everyone and the "aww shucks, we are all family" attitude has to go. Our offense is predictable and coaches can't develop players. There are freshman leading their teams to victories and we can't throw for 150 yards against any team that isn't by a bottom feeder or suffer some from pathetic coaching decisions. Our special teams are a joke outside of Townsend. How can you have all that talent and speed and not at least be respectable in the return game or ever come close to blocking a punt?
Wanting and hoping to win is different than doing the things that it takes to win, like devising a game plan that matches your talent. It's the same poor coaching, pedestrian game plan and mistakes every week with no sign of any progress or change on the horizon. Hope isn't a game plan.
Yes, we are missing players but why are you recruiting and keeping morons who do these things? Because you are desperate and need talent to overcome your lack of coaching and failure to develop players.
I know this is mostly repetitive of what's already on this board but I hate not enjoying Gator football like I once did and just need to vent.

That's awesome. I've never attended one of the Valley League games, but have tried to for the last few years. I'll try to get to one next season (it's a really short season though). Did you play for UF? I just gained (ever so slightly) some respect for you Jay!! :D

Downtown Harrisonburg is great. Several nice restaurants and bars, breweries, etc. We drive up there occasionally. My cousin is just south of there in Staunton. Woodstock has a few nice bars and a brewery. They just opened a distillery too. Our cabin is 112 miles from door to door. We rent it out on airbnb quite a bit, but try to use it once a month. Let me know when you're in the area and you can experience some shenanigan's!!

Ox, you need to have you or someone else, armed with a smartphone to record the conversation, walk through the VIP parking section before the next home game. Introduce yourself, tell 'em why you've chosen to stop and talk, and ask this simple question:

Where do you think we are as a football program and where should we be?

You'll get a good pulse on what the higher-ups are thinking, and I promise you won't be disappointed. Heck, I bet many of the Bull Gators offer their names.

If you go, I’d suggest going to one in Harrisonburg since it’s far and away the nicest field in the Valley haha. I played at a smaller school (FL Southern), so hopefully the slight increase in respect doesn’t go away now :sadnanner: ....

I haven’t been to Virginia in 4-5 years, though I need to get back for a visit!

Side note- Riley Cooper played for my team the summer prior to my arrival. I was a year too late haha.

How was the fan apathy after the game (at the stadium)? This is going to get ugly. I was planning, since the summer, to make the Texas A&M game this year (traveling from DC)....but decided after the Michigan debacle that nothing has changed and I'll save the $1000+ I would have spent (on airfare, hotel, rental car, tickets, etc). I went to a wedding yesterday. A WEDDING! Younger me would have never done that - when our program was relevant. Our AD's office has a tough choice to make (it wouldn't be tough for me to make). But it's time to call a spade a spade. Cut ties and start from scratch. Even if it means going 3-9 next year w/ a new staff....wipe the slate clean.

FYI, your trip will cost slightly less than you had originally planned, b/c the price of tickets outside the stadium will be well below 50% of face value. Yesterday was the 2nd toughest ticket of our home schedule (behind FSU), and I paid exactly one-third of the face value. Next week against A&M my limit will be 15 bucks. So if you change your mind you might spend 150 bucks less than anticipated, depending on size of your party.

We need to find a "Schnellenberger" type to take this program from nothing to an identity (without the fatigues please).
J/k. Kind of.

The Devils backbone brewery is just outside of Charlottesville as well.
