I figure its about half or a little less of the 12 million plus if both sides are close to agreeing to it officially.

Game of chicken. Florida threatened to go the distance. Sexton said, whoa, wait a minute, maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle.

Avoiding a protracted battle saves both sides a big chunk of change.

Loose lips sink ships.

Since we owe CSU 1.5 M, then the buyout would actually only be 2.5 M if Brett is correct. 1.5M will be what Butters owes CSU and 1M to Butters. I can live with that. Just open the petty cash box and give him the 2.5M in pennies.

Well let's see: Jim earned somewhere around $2 million in 2015, $4.5 million for 2016, about $3.8 million so far
this year, and probably $5 million in adios money. Figure him to be in the 40% tax bracket and he should
have at least a $8 million in the bank. He will probably be able to live with that. Not too shabby for less than 3 years work.

I don't see why sexton's ties to potential clients comes to play.

His agent shouldn't negotiate the buy out, his lawyers should.

Example 1,342,499 that Mac went full retard here in every facet.

It sucks, but probably the best. We'd spend a ton fighting him. But Sexton blinked, chalk one up for UF.

Are you kidding? Sexton is the most powerful agent in college football. If there is any one person Mac wanted representing him with UF, it's him. It was Mac himself through his dumb actions Monday who did in Mac.

Sextons interests don't lie with Mac alone. He's trying to do best for all his clients. If UF has to spend more $$ on Mac's buyout, then we may not be able to afford Chip Kelley or another of Sextons clients.

If I'm Mac, I don't want someone with a potential conflict negotiating the biggest payday I'll ever get.

Does Sexton represent Kelly?

The dude paid his own buyout to come here. Give him the 4 mil and call it a day.
Hell, if he leaves with 6 mil that is basically what would would have paid him this year and next. Many were SURE he'd get one more year.

It's a bargain just to get that cancer out of the building.
