I understand the concern completely. And this could end up being more prophecy than post, though hopefully not.

But I don't think Stricklin would make this move without feeling that his issue at Oregon was isolated and not something we'd see here. All successful coaches push the envelope and look for ways to get a leg up on the competition. Saban's staff dwarfs many others but is classified differently and thus gets a pass. Meyer used texting to speak to recruits during periods where he wasn't allowed to "call", putting him miles ahead of Coker and Bowden. It's the nature of things. He also shouldn't face the same uphill recruiting battles at UF that he faced at Oregon, so I actually think we'll be ok. But again, I get the concern.

I truly don't think Frost is interested. I think he either wants the Nebraska job or wants to try to get UCF to the Big 12 by having one more really good season. I may be biased, but I think it is a mistake on his part.

Ok, since it "appears" to be Chip Kelly....I was around for the Pell years. We were all happy about the winning, upgrade of facilities, recruiting, and then come to find out, he did not do it ethically. This is what worries me about Chip Kelly. Can anyone enlighten me why he got slammed by the NCAA for show cause? They do not hand those out casually...in fact the NCAA is so spineless that for them to issue Show Cause, Kelly had to have done something VERY egregious! Looking forward to hearing what shenanigans he did and why we think he won't change his stripes and bring down (further) our program. I want our program to start winning again, but I also do not want another Pell.

To be fair, the flipside to that argument is that it seems like there's a great opening nearly every year. So as long as the shine doesn't wear off, he'll be the hot name next year and beyond, if in fact that's what he wants to do. I would fully get if the lure of Nebraska, logical or not, is too much for him and he gives that a shot. But the idea of Ucf becoming anything substantial is silly. I'd respect the rare nature of his commitment, but would question his common sense and willingness to listen to reason. His agent would have to be pulling his hair out.

uhhhhh... this is odd. Is he trolling us? Hopefully he's trolling fooley, or macelstain. I was actually letting my hopes get lifted for a sec, and then this happened.

If you have a problem with that possibility then you should let the boosters know, coaches don't actually do the buying themselves. Coaches get way to much credit for that. They may abide to it or turn a blind eye but hiring chip kelly isn't gonna be the start of it.
