Yeah I kinda agree. If it failed someone somewhere would say so. Chip wants back to coaching so someone would get info his agents are reaching out or visa versa.
Just follow the trails...so far you are still hearing so and so is connected/discussed/etc in the UCLA job...you aren't hearing any rumors of anyone besides Kelly being rumored to UF...i think that's the sign everyone should watch for...if there are no rampant rumors/news about UF now looking at another option then Kelly to UF is done

Who could they talk to? Most candidates are still coaching this season and would be off limits... no?

Logically, if he wants back in coaching (every indication is that he does), then UF is the logical choice. He's not going to a school like Arkansas or Texas A&M. UTjr is too southern and is objectively a worse job than UF, and UCLA doesn't have the commitment he's apparently looking for to hire support staff/assistants. If he wants to coach this year, it's hard to imagine him selecting anyone other than UF.

Actually Ta&m is the only school that is currently on the market that can match surpass our buying power. But right now they are officially not in the market.

The candidates are contacted through their agents, we had contacted most of our short list before Butters was officially broken off. We knew who was in play well before we were officially on the market.

Yep. And all the UCLA talk was fake and recanted already. Zero meetings have happened. Someone other than Tracy at 247 is going to have to break that news for me to believe it now

This...and news always gets leaked when they are contacted either because they are actually interested or to try and get a raise out of their current team (STOOPS).

My theory... It is just a waiting game at this point. Stricklin doesn’t want to announce until after FSU so the team is focused and out of respect for Shannon. I think Chip signed the contract when the plane went up there and the plan was always to wait until the week after FSU.

Not sure if we take a bowl game or not, I did see a post talking about how it could cost us more $$ to play in a bowl than we would make... The SEC could push us to accept if they wanted us to.

Right now.. I just want to beat FSU and get to the announcement. I think this is done and will be a turning point. We will be contenders in 2 or 3 years minimum with Kelly. Football will be fun again!

Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom before you turn things around.

That's about where I am at. Trying to turn it around, but don't even know how or where to begin.

I'd say getting Chip Kelly would be a welcome start.

Or at least a distraction on the new path I will be taking... whatever that may be.

Well ... given all of our other viable options are still coaching, that could explain the lull as well. Not trying to be negative ... just realistic.

Bottom line ... I guess we got another date on the calendar that will come and pass facilitating the boards to get more clicks and traffic.

How could the SEC push us to accept a bowl game?

TAM is a good possibility in my view. The rest I agree with.

I believe that they could if us not doing so meant one less bowl game and less money for the league. It would be better for us not to go, we will share with others who are going and not pay for unused tickets, at least that is my opinion.

Maybe I need to rephrase – how could they? What legal leverage do they have to do something like that? The commissioner works for the presidents. Not the opposite way.

Unless the president is doing something that legally binds or damages the SEC, why would the other presidents use the commissioner to force a sanction? Particularly against a powerhouse like UF?
