Funny you mention Emmitt Smith as there was much complaining about the UF OL in 1987 and the inability of UF to run. Then Hall started and gave the ball to Emmitt enough times and UF was running all over teams. So a player sometimes can make a difference in a decent offense. Perhaps you meant to say no one looks good in a poorly designed and coached offense that takes no risks.
that line shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as the crap we've had on the field the last few years. were they under achieving especially compared to the Great Wall of Florida, yes. the same could be said of 2009 and 2010. we've been playing with guys on our offensive line who likely only one of whom would have started on Vandy.

As we reported earlier today on our Recruiting Wire - Florida four-star receiver commit

Tyquan Thornton
visited UCF this weekend instead of Florida.

That isn't a surprise. In the initial update, as you can see below, he was the one we were watching to see if he actually made the trip.

Anybody have access to this? Please tell me it’s not bad news, this is arguably my favorite recruit in the class.

Redmon said on the radio yesterday he expects Thornton to flip to miami now that corrals gone. Fwiw

Brantley was too big of a legacy. UF could't dis him.

There's no way you were 45 years old before you had your first job. ;)
30...but whose counting?! Not that it matters, but I dropped out of college after getting my AA degree and worked about 8 years as an electrician. Went back to college at 27, coaching basketball for 3 seasons while I graduated and looked for a job. Got that first job and have been a "football head" (old term) ever since. Been everything from a middle school coach, high school position coach (DT, DE, Secondary, OL, RB, QB), D Coordinator, and HC. Coached on 2 undefeated teams and 2 that didn't win a game and the latter taught me a ton about what it takes to be a better coach.

I haven't been on the grass since 2015 (coached my son's HS team for 2 seasons, long story) while working as an administrator at my day job. I miss it every day. Might make it back before I hang the school biz up if my health allows. Coaches with the right philosophy and priorities often make the greatest impact on the kids that need it most. That made up for whatever $ I wasn't getting paid! Though I'm pretty mellow now, I was a mean SOB on the field and in the weight room, but I always let the kids know I cared for them and that we did what we did seeking excellence and developing a work ethic that wasn't only for sport, but for how to live your life and give yourself a chance to succeed.

And BTW...the guy that gave me that first job was Kirby's dad and I owe him a ton! Probably told more than anybody cares about, but your reply inspired me! There's more to this coaching sh!t than the average guy can see sometimes.

Carol didn't pick Ole Miss over us silly. Corral was encouraged to find a new home and Ole Miss was the only one interested.
So Mullen wasted a trip across the country with another coach, not to mention an earlier trip by Gonzalez, on a guy he didn’t want at all? Granted, Mullen clearly wasn’t in love with Corral, I’ll give you that, but by all appearances the offer to sign was still on the table

Offer was on the table as a solid fall back option.

Corral was being slow played and took offense to it. He said hell no. No way that kid recruited as hard as he did because he wanted to go somewhere else. Mullen, for good or ill, has made his first bed. Meyer will still get his guy unfortunately IMHO.

Are we back yet?

Corral obviously wanted to be put on a pedestal and wanted to be coddled. I wanted him to come here all along but am now wondering just what is going on with this kid.

Following recruiting is ALL about reading the tea leaves. If you are not reading the tea leaves then you are reading fiction.
