I wish you guys would stop priming the pump with liberal spending threads like this. We have better things to do with our millions. Jumbo CD rates are up to 2.00%.

We are spending A LOT of money.... on baseball ($50 mil) and softball.
And basketball. ($70 mil)

The only number Ive seen for football is $17mil.

We need to clean the rest of the shyt out of the athletic dept office. Little Foleys everywhere still.

The stand alone was 60 million the first go around. Now that Baseball is moving I am sure it's going to be upgraded.

Cousin Eddie is really shaking his head now and wondering why the facilities at UF are so effing shytty compared to the teams they want to compete against on and off the field. Knowing that Fooley is still around and is going to be around for a LLOOONNNGGGGG time (in the form of Fooley's little bytch), how can Cousin Eddie expect it to change anytime soon? It is probably very similar when Dumbo got a huge offer from A&M, so Dumbo asked for some help at SOW and do you know what Dumbo got from those cow tippers? Dumbo got a promise to have a meeting that they would talk about those things.:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:.

Fooley's stench permeates throughout this state apparently!!!!!!

We are never going to have an amusement park, with toilets with gold handles, a roller coaster and a built in Cadillac Acadia dealership & service department. Everyone gets sidetracked by the circus stuff. That isn't the point.

What we do need is one facility designed for absolute efficiency. Room for all the legions of quality control staff, rooms for them to cut video, do presentations to the coaches and once approved to the position groups. We need workout facilities that are about ten times as large as we have so there are no lines. The kids can work out as quickly as possible, more reps, more strength, in the time alotted.

We need our nutrition facilities right there. Straight from the workout, pound the snacks, recovery drink, protein bars and shakes, off to class. No temptation to workout, oops late for class, I will eat later (ends up being 6pm). They dont get all the gain they could have with immediate protein and recovery after the workout. A thousand more examples.

There might even be a bunkroom. I'm sure that will freak some out. Naps between workouts mean the kids recover faster. And they don't have to drive home to do it. (Wasted time out and back). Have 90 minutes between workouts and position meeting? nap then back to S&C after the position meeting for agility drills. They aren't dog azz tired and getting nothing out of it, they napped. They are still students and S&C training ALONE is a fulltime job (or should be, we know that hasn't been the case).

The trainers rooms will be right there. incredibly, many of the rooms are currently scattered across campus. Amazing. Walk four blocks to get your ice treatment.

Fooley's 1980 facilities don't work. Hell even UCF and USF have better. People in converted broom closets in a building four blocks away. Position coach is running late, fvkk it, forget the presentation just email it. No time. Only a few meeting rooms, most arent available, cant find a place for the position group meeting? fvkk it, we will just email it and hope everyone understands. No audio visual, no lan or wifi available in parts of the building. It's ridiculous.

It's not about gold plated anything. Florida will never have that shyt. But we damn well need to be efficient, with everyone together (have a question, just run down the hall) and modern accoutrements. It is almost impossible to believe we are even having this debate STILL. You want a team that actually looks like they prepared as much as the teams we are playing? you old fvkks (not you aka, aimed at the crowd) will have to be brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

It isn't 1979 anymore.

If the SOW couldn't come up with a few mill to renovate the erector set (Joke Shambles) then how the F are they going to sh*t out 50 to 75 large? Call it classrooms and get the taxpayer to foot the bill....... Again?

Yeah, Im thinking (guessing) they are counting moving baseball in that 60m bc they also keep calling the whole thing a 100 mil package of projects (baseball is 50 alone) and it includes tens of millions for softball and a few other teams (forget and too lazy to look it up).

It's hard to tell bc you either get a summary written by one of the sports dept toolbags or the whole damn proposal.

I note that particular article is old enough that it was before the baseball field was even getting moved. I think it was that long narrow 4 story double wide trailer looking thing they were sandwiching on the existing space.

I HOPE you are right but I know better than to expect it.

Cool. Sounds good and makes sense. Unfortunately fans, and by that I mean ticket holding fans, had better be prepared to pony up 'cause you can talk about TV money all you like but the fact of the matter is it's still going to increase ticket and food prices a lot. Prices keep going up and I don't see them not going up for the foreseeable future. For "donation" and ticket I'm paying about $125/ticket/game x 4. And I don't even have great seats. I'll keep paying it but I'm not going to lie, for the first time ever I've started asking myself if its worth the drive and time to see what in essence is 3-4 decent games a year. And sure, the sh!tshow on the field has no doubt contributed to my thoughts on this, but eventually there comes a point when you weigh it out and decide that buying season tickets doesn't make sense.

So yeah, all these things sound great and nowadays they may be needed to compete, but boosters had better be prepared to pay for it bigly.

Sorry, ticket prices and booster money is a drop in the bucket. Merchandise, marketing rights and tv money is all that matters. Thats why the boosters, even the biggest, can hate Mullinz but the AD hire him anyway.

Its not about boosters. They have been given tens of million to the gen fund every year. It has been as high as thirty I think.

Even the merchandising has been greatly mismanaged. There are teams who have won a conference title minor teams, not just Md and Oregon, getting 20 times what we do out of marketing agreements. That has been handled in the same horsetoothed former popcorn salesman "gee whiz just give us some shoes and we will be happy" method as every other AD's office fvkk up over the last three two and a half decades.

Am I pissed we are spending 60-80-90 million, who fvkking knows, on nonrevenue sports for teams that are lucky to attract a few hundred fans for games, absolutely... and yet blame foley. Hell blame Foley fornwhy this all must be done now. We SHOULD be expanding and updatingnthe facilities we built in the mid 90s instead of being 35 years or so behind in everything.

We have been a hundred million plus revenue operation for a while now and always a top 5 to top 10 revenue. Youd think we were some damn penniless Sunbelt geographical team.

It is a good thing for the old guard that they have 24 year olds and drunks serving as journalist around this program.

May be a "drop in the bucket" but that doesn't mean that the drops aren't going to get much bigger to help fund the new toys.

I agree that any ticket price increases will further decrease tickets sales. Hopefully they know that. If not, it is self-correcting.

You are a saint for paying to watch the feces weve put on the field ts decade.

Geez Law, it all sounds perfect, but you left out the things that the players MOST care about. A place for the hookers to hang out, the bowling alley, the driving range, a go-kart raceway, video arcade area as big as the O-dome, paintball field, music listening room and studio, etc. etc.
