I think the biggest difference between him and MAC is that coach Shannon is coach Shannon and MAC might be five different people in a week depending on what day it is. That gets old, never knowing what you are going to get.

:lmao:

About Shannon playing his 3* Stars from south Florida.

"I'll tell you about coach Shannon, the joke is that the best way to play early at Florida is if you are a five-star or from Miami. If you were from Miami you were going to get your shot because coach Shannon looked out for his Miami players. How do you think he gets so many guys from there? It's because he tells the coaches and parents he has the Miami player's backs and he does. You can't get mad about that. S__t, we all wish we had someone like that. The only defensive player who really didn't like him was Brad Stewart – and where was he from? [New Orleans] Not Miami. Anyone of us would love to play for coach Shannon, I don't think anyone would want to play for MAC.

Indictment on Foley thinking he’s outsmarting everyone.

If I saw him today I would put my arm around him. I don't think he was a good head coach because I don't think he knows who he really is and wasn't ready for this big a job, but that's not his fault. That doesn't stop me from loving him."

That's the risk of hiring someone who's never been CEO of a Fortune 100 football program. You really don't know how they'll do under pressure.

I am seriously amazed at the apparent lack of vetting done for employees earning millions of dollars with guaranteed dollars. I hire people making $200k “at will” (meaning I can fire them at any time for no reason) and go through a significant vetting process - including background, references, personality profiling, and basically “BS detecting” analysis. WTF is going on in our admin program?

Btw - THIS IS HOW REPORTING SHOULD BE DONE. Not that lame ass 247/SEC Country reporting. Where they just turn short tweets into longer ones with their lame opinions.

All I know is Foley was so smitten with Mac after interviewing him he would have paid anything to get him. Anything.

The only explanation I can think of at this point is a sexual relationship between the two.

Remember when Mac's name was leaked for the job and many said "who?". Well he sold the UAA a counterfeit coach.

The whole Saban Tree thinking was overly simplistic and fundamentally flawed. We've never excelled nor cared for that brand of football anyway.

200k? Got any job openings? I doubt I'm qualified, but that never stopped Foley.

His flaws that we know of now are easily detectable with basic tools. I’ll spend $1500 to get a prospective employee screened and find these kinds of flaws - it’s not hard to find. As a season ticket holder and booster, it makes me livid. These Foley apologists need to take a boot to the berries.

Any guesses who the player is? My guess is Del Rio.

In reading this I gotta' say I'm not overly surprised. I mean, anyone who is a decent judge of character shouldn't be surprised by much of what was said in that article. The whole time I'm reading it I'm nodding my head because after watching Mac for 3 years I can easily picture all of that happening. I may not have known the exact words said, but intuition and other evidence of his behavior like pressers and interviews painted a pretty clear picture of what he was....... a fruitcake trying too hard to appear competent.......and failing badly.

The amazing thing isn’t just how bad the hire was. It’s the fact that it was two straight. You’d think the WM hire would’ve been a wake up call for his arrogance. Instead he basically insisted on outdoing himself.
