Doubt thats the case here. I do remember that. He got a lot of flack for it

Yep it was very graphic also. If it was here the media would have covered it a lot more. Mullen tried to say it was the University's decision. I agree that mess wouldn't fly here.

2 friends of mine taught him in high school. Said he's basically a good kid one on one. But family life was virtually non-existent - no parenting, no discipline, no teaching of right & wrong.

I don’t think anyone needs a parent to teach them not to strangle women. But yes, it’s definitely a lack of accountability instilled from a young age. Not that such actions are ever justified, but it’s absurd to think that, at this age, any girl could’ve done anything something so wrong you’d be willing to throw your life away. These kids just have no concept of being punished and/orthinking beyond the moment. It’s disturbing.

DB is the one position we can afford to lose a criminal, and also prove to the other kids we dont accept this shyt. Hopefully they will all.think twice before being a violent azzhole.

Wow......bye bye

Florida Gators four-star freshman Justin Watkins has been indefinitely suspended from the football program after being arrested Tuesday.

Watkins is presently in custody facing four charges, including a pair of third-degree felonies for domestic battery by strangulation and kidnapping-false imprisonment of an adult. He is also facing two first-degree misdemeanor battery charges. The arrest was made by the University Police Department.

According to the police report, as obtained by WCJB TV20 (ABC), Watkins is accused of striking a woman “both with an open and closed fist on both sides of her head” and choking her on more than one occasion while holding her down on a bed in a dorm room on July 20. He then allegedly blocked the door when the woman tried to leave the room and attempted to physically restrain her until she spayed him with mace and escaped. Watkins did not stop there, according to the report, as he also allegedly chased the woman out of the dorm and “threw multiple items at her including a brush and container of ‘hair grease’ causing bleeding and swelling.”

This is the second incident in which Watkins has been involved since joining the program. Back in May, he was arrested for trespassing on school grounds following a verbal altercation with a woman that allegedly included destruction of property.

At the time, head coach Dan Mullen noted he was “aware of the incident” and “collecting information.” No punishment was ever announced for Watkins as this occurred after spring practice and the player was not yet enrolled at Florida.

Watkins has since enrolled in the Summer B semester and formally joined the Gators. Mullen announced Watkins’ suspension “from all team activities” in a brief statement to 247Sports, which first reported the arrest.

Ranked as the 89th best player in the nation, Watkins was expected to join Florida as a wide receiver but may actually begin his career in the secondary — should he wind up remaining on the team this season — due to an immediate need at the cornerback position. Mullen had previously discussed the possibility with Watkins but said he would ultimately let him choose to play where he felt most comfortable in 2018.

No he isn’t.

Removing boots, buying weed and throwing cups at Jimmy Johns were what won us titles.

Guys like Jacques Rickerson and Gary Brown were removed immediately, which is what I expect to happen here.

Well, and the occasional shooting/attempted murder of a few guys in a car on University Avenue, too. Oh, I almost forgot the punching the bouncer and rupturing his eardrum incidents. :giggle:

Built in excuse for Byrd and Breezy
Your ignorance of the importance of healthy eligible top talent is built in.

You need BOTH coaching and top healthy eligible talent to win championships.

Has anyone around here pulled the average SAT and GPAs for kids going to UF and kids going to schools like Bama and Georgia? One would assume there is a strong correlation over the last decade with UF becoming such a difficult place to get into and our rapid decent into mediocrity. All the Foley mess aside, you’d have to wonder if our desire to become the Harvard of the south has ruined our football program?

More like our desire to be the Wake Forest of the SEC.

2 friends of mine taught him in high school. Said he's basically a good kid one on one. But family life was virtually non-existent - no parenting, no discipline, no teaching of right & wrong. They said he had pretty good grades and by getting into UF that's obvious. But when kids aren't taught responsibility and accountability, it leads to trouble down the road. Feel bad for him but worse for the one he abused. He was a highly recruited kid who, I think, always wanted to be a Gator. Looks like that dream is blown, along with any type of meaningful future.
So, let me see if I’ve got this correct... he’s smart enough to know how to make correct decisions for good grades and school work but not when it comes to knowing right and wrong with females? And this is because he had a lack of parenting as a kid? GTFO with that BS.
