They thought for sure he was their SOS, but he’s more like their Chump. Their problem is, who are they going to hire that’s any better and is willing to go there?

Just think, 12 months ago they were on top of the world after thrashing Mac’s version of the Gators. My, how times change. He’s 9-9 in his last 18 games.

They'll find plenty of takers. They should go after PJ Fleck #1. He's a midwest guy and won big at Western Michigan.

Struggling offense, looking for a spark? I know, hire a career offensive disaster. What could possibly go wrong?

I hear Briles and Smith are available if Michigan needs an ethics guy.

Search for an argument from 3+ years ago? Waste of my time. Believe what you want.

It certainly wasn’t a majority, but some folks were mad that foley didn’t even call him. Some of us argued he’s a meeshegan man and wouldn’t take any other college job at this point. Maybe I was arguing with the voices in my head.

He wouldn't have considered any other job. Frankly, I was quite surprised he considered that one.

I'm pretty sure I remember no one (except maybe Crete but I think he is joking half the thime) thinking we should have called him. What you probably remember is people saying look at Arky grabbing Petrino, Bammer grabbing Saban, and Meatchicken grabbing Harbaugh and suggesting we should go for a homerun hire instead of yet another shytbag off the discount rack.

Yes, homerun hires fail too. But we spent more on our three shytty hires (aggrregate) than any of those schools spent swinging for the fences. And there was zero chance any of the reject stack hires will ever be a champion.

How many on here were screaming to throw the bank at harbaw???

That said, I’m surprised that he’s struggling when you consider his success at Stanford and on the recruiting trail.

Approximately 0.0%

Alright, I’ll save you the trouble of having to look it up and admit that I was high on Harbaugh and said regardless of people saying he most likely would never take the UF job, the AD still should have called. He obviously hasn’t lived up the success he had at Stanford and San Fran so at this point in his Michigan tenure I’ve obviously been proven wrong...and I’ll own up to that. I, too, am surprised because he has recruited well and what he did at Stanford was very impressive. They were cellar dwellers and he turned them into a force that was fun to watch. My guess is that the assistants he had at Stanford were more instrumental in the success of that program than anybody (myself included) gave them credit for. I really have no other explanation for why he’s struggled so badly the past 3 seasons, other than maybe his heart just isn’t into it anymore.

Dead program, all they have left is their history.

They're currently laying down a history inclusive of Jim McElwain. If that staff & HC/CEO Harbaugh can fit Mc in, then it's a mayday, mayday crash landing ... and Mac & wife are just smiling, laughing.

I never would have seen this coming. I thought Harbaugh was one of the best. You would think Michigan is full of football talent.

He had one great year, one good year and 2 losing seasons at Stanford. His successor has averaged over 10 wins per year.

But I don’t think you were wrong given what we knew at the time. He SHOULD be killing it at Michigan. He may yet. I don’t like him but the guy can coach.

Maybe the most overrated coach in college football history. I tried to warn you guys.
He’s a Rehabilitation Coach. What he did with San Diego, Stanford and the 49ers is remarkable. Unfortunately, it hasn’t and won’t translate to Meatchicken. That’s far from “overrated”.

If he goes 8-5 again he will be on the white hot seat again! Can we hire his Def Coordinator? His Def. Line coach?

His hiring of Mac torpedoes any of the remaining arguments that he knows what he's doing. He deserves everything coming to him now.
