Every time I think he may turn a corner, he throws out one of those.

Wooing someone who saw how you treat new coaches who won the division twice and then fired when you get 9 suspensions and start losing are hard to woo. Especially when he has the chance to go to his alma mater. I liked him but he did not want to talk to us.

You serious Clark??? :scratchhead:

I normally agree with you on politics Donkey but we totally disagree on giving the new UF head coach a fair chance to get started. Oh well. If you got your way I would have given your boy Fedora a fair chance also.

Yes. Coaching and recruiting in Florida, Frost (who also had no UF ties like Mac) would have to see how the UF fans were treating Mac in year three. Going home to Frost's alma mater would give him a fair chance to install his new system and players.

I liked Frost but he has to like us back. Mullen paid his dues as an SEC coach and had already been in national championship games as a Gator coach. Frost had no ties like that.

Not really YL.

Our self proclaimed expert (Donkey) on who UF should have chosen wanted a guy who is very questionable.

Donkey didn't get his way so he has posted 1,000s of posts against the coach who was basically the best coach who had a mutual interest in UF and was available. He complains non stop about a coach who has started out better than the coach he wanted.
Hmmm,

I don’t recall anyone on this board saying ‘hey let’s hire a guy who is very questionable’.

Nor do I recall anyone saying ‘let’s hire the best coach with a mutual interest in UF who happens to be available’. Those caveats kind of limit the options significantly, which is the point I think many on this board have made and continue to make.

I do recall most everyone saying we should hire the best coach period. Sure would have been nice if we had done that.

Maybe he saw what a clown Mac was chose not to step in the dung piles left behind by the BBQ Sauce Salesman.

Totally agree. Plus Mac had pro system players and Frost runs a spread. Takes time to put in the new system with inappropriate personnel. Would the UF fans give him a fair chance to get started? Nebraska will.

And that person to you back then was? Bill Belichick and Saban were not interested in starting out fresh at UF.
