Who removed the Scottie Lewis thread....this deserves it's own. It's like getting a top 5 overall recruit in football

Exactly, I can not believe I was wasting my time on the 4800 yards thread I started this summer when there was huge news like this out there. This could be program changing news.

And just like that UF jumps to #2 in the 247sports team rankings. Two days ago UF was about 50, then yesterday UF jumped to about 15 and then today to 2.

Quick, strong, finishes with authority. And an attitude. I hope Omar Payne will learn these things from Lewis.

Just read this article on ESPN about the commitment and one thing really stood out to me. It says that Florida has not missed a single game he has played with New Jersey's Team Rio National during a recruiting period since Mike White got to Florida Scottie's freshman year. That is crazy and shows the level of commitment this staff has taken on recruiting elite talent. Mike White and boys must be relentless. Love it!

I hope the link shows up correctly given I'm posting from mobile.

Scottie Lewis, No. 18 in the ESPN 100, commits to Florida Gators get verbal from five-star recruit Lewis

Huge get by White. I'm loving all the buzz around the program. Amazing how when the football team is showing life it turns the whole athletic program energy up. Keep it rolling Gators!!!

Separate from football, White seems to be UF's very best recruiter.?? How great is it gonna be to slide from football smoothly into "high performance basketball"?

Essentially, a Gator newbie who should have an immediate first-season impact is Assistant Head Coach Al Pinkins - our top-notch "inside-men" coach. We've got a good supply of front-line guys this year = less fear-playing over individual foul-trouble ? Sum those guys are hefty-weights who can attack the rim to score & for rebounds. Teaching rebounding is coach Pinkins' specialty.
Boy we have a suddenly tough schedule this year - play FSU first game ? And quickly go to a tournament in the Bahamas to play 3 days in a row, 3 expectant Sweet-16 teams.UF basketball's gonna be a "hot-watch" item.

Lewis and Payne -- wowwwwwwww. Odds that Roy Williams accuses White of improper recruiting? I am getting flashbacks - huge get for White. Mike White is generically named, but this class is anything but.

In a related story I am too giddy about this.

Great post - I still Detest Royboy after all these years. He stained the reputation of an honorable man with a false accusation that sullied the program and caused us to be investigated by the NCAA, and later labeled by that Stanford jerk (among others) as a renegade program. Even after UF was cleared, and actually lauded by the NCAA for their institutional rectitude, Williams was never man enough to apologize, while Eddie Folger (former SC HC) finally did. What a nasty, sniveling, self promoting, self-important POS he is - especially in light of the "fake class" scandal at NC.

I was wondering how this stacks up versus the ‘04’s.

This class is stunning. C’mon down C.J.!

Before the fact, this class may actually be rated higher. I don't remember any of the '04s being considered wunderkinds, beyond Corey Brewer, who was a 5 star if I remember correctly. If they actually exceed the '04s on the court, Mick Hubert's gonna be goin nuts like never before.
