Defense and pitching are on our side. I wouldn't mind seeing some small ball. Seems like most teams that win the CWS hit single after single. Nothing wrong with that. Go Gators!

Just have hitters swinging to hit line drives (no, not in an obvious bunt out situation).

Well, the team certainly struck lightning in a bottle yesterday with Dyson's perfromance in both games. Wow! Where has that been? That kid could not throw a strike all season and then yesterday he looked like Tom Seaver. I know Sully was high on him early and wanted him as a closer b/c he can bring it, but he had no command. If Dyson can pitch like that, it gives us a much better chance in Omaha b/c it gives us a 2nd bullpen guy. I like Byrne, but it showed that his lack of velocity can be detrimental against a monster hitting team. And if Singer pitches like he did over the weekend, it take s a lot of pressure off Kowar. Good job by the guys. Just need to score a few more runs and hope to goodness that Sully does not tighten up like a snare drum as he has been prone to do every time he gets to Omaha. With less fanfare, maybe he won't be so tight.

Notice that FireFoley was a NO SHOW in the other baseball thread where he got called out. NOT a shocker that he didn't show up and take his lumps as we WON which usually happens anyways. He LOVES to HATE and COMPLAIN but when WIN??? Crickets, Crickets. He NEVER showed up to congratulate the team on WINNING and getting to the CWS. FireFoley OWNED and DESTROYED and TRASHED and CHOMPED...YET AGAIN!! Go Gators!!

Hope they don't "show" bunt when they're going to bunt and hope they don't show "fake bunt" but instead get their bat still & ready, and keep their eyes on the ball when it leaves the pitcher's hand and set their stance firm for getting the sweet-spot of the bat on the ball... as described in Ted Williams hyper-detailed book "On Hitting". That book should be assigned study for all our MLB hopefuls.

Idk if anybody else has seen Major League (really hope you have), but I can't help but think this character epitomizes Ox way too well..
