I grew up in the Midwest and hate the weather for a good 5 months of the year... not everyone is the same. If it were me that was offered both jobs weather would make a big difference... but we don't know Frosts opinion on that

I suppose so. Guess we will see.

The traffic alone would make me leave Orlando. Imagine that kind of gridlock because of snow, not cars, but snow

Now that they have a baby, I think the weather is even more of a deciding factor. Who the hell wants to dress a baby/toddler up in ten layers of clothes half the year?

Cold weather sucks. Just flat out sucks there's nothing good about it. And you're going to have to polish up your elevator speech - A LOT - to convince a kid from the South to live in cornshucker country for 4 years.

Having gone there..... if you are making the kind of money he will be making, his kids will be going elsewhere.

Probably so, I guess I assumed being an experimental type of school it would provide opportunities that the regular public schools could not.

Private schools are sometimes better, but sometimes not so great.

This.

I grew up in FL. Other than the desert southwest, I've live in just about every climate this country has. And everywhere I go, I hear people who can't imagine why anyone would want to live anywhere else.

Its' not a bad school, and they did attempt different teaching techniques, and we had access to some of UF stuff. My Chem and Physic teachers were both professors at UF and my physics teacher also consulted for NASA. The experiment was more on the students, we were always diverse as the national percentages. We were 28% black, because that was what the nation was at the time. The percentages were both racial and social economical. I was afforded the opportunity to start classes at UF my senior year of High School, where the rest of Alachua County had the option to goto SFCC.

If you could carve July 1 to Sept. 30 off the Florida calendar ...
