How does Muschamp's severance payout work?
Fairly certain that UAA has lawyers that are advising Foley on the language of the contracts. Even though Foley said Muschamp was getting paid out--it is not clear whether there was any renegotiation of the payout amount for Muschamp to be able to say "he stepped down." How does Muschamp's severance payout work?
During the press conference yesterday, Foley said that Muschamp's contract did not have a mitigation clause. The assistant coaches contracts do have a mitigation clause. So, assistants payouts will be reduced by whatever they get paid by another school, Muschamp's payout will not.- TexasGator
