We're still paying Muschamp's buyout (UGA is still paying Richt, but not as much as we're paying Muschamp) plus we're paying McElwain's buyout at Colorado State....plus we owe Colorado State a game in Gainesville where we're overpaying.

I was going to ask if the $3M for WM is the base at USCe, and doesn't reflect what we're paying him above that. I'll assume so, and wonder if he sees a big bump to make his salary once we aren't supplementing it. I hope not. I cheer against USCe, but I'm more anti-WM and would hate to see anyone else paying him.

I think once WM is off our payroll, and as CSU comes off our payroll....and Mac shows very well next year, we should see him get a competitive bump.

Because those two schools are stupid. I think we are paying Mac fairly. Win something and you get a significant raise.

Totally agree. In fact, when they signed him last year they probably overpaid by $500K. He'll be well compensated if he wins something.

The new coaches are getting more due to inflation in the Market. The new market value for head coaches has increased, like any market. Butch it's Tennesse, they are paying a guy who has been their a number of years, for his new extension. Why was he extended, because it's Tennesse.

There was a big article in AJC this week bemoaning UGA paying 6 mill this year to Ritch etal. I dont think our annual payout is this much? Still Malzahn, Sumlin and Miles are soon for the chopping block. Of course LSU may not have a football program next year so that may solve itself.....

We owed a few of our assistants, specifically Roper who signed a 3-year, $1.8 million contract (so we owed him $1.2 million).

That may happen. They're trying to raise crazy taxes to cover it.

Yeah, those are reasons Fooley should be fired or making less, not our next coach.

I guess we should be happy we are paying a few pennies more than Kintucky.

Freakin Sumlin.....all that talent and he does sh!t with it. It sucks we're in the middle of the pack but it's better than over paying in the beginning. If Mac wins 9 or 10 games next season I would consider giving him a bump....If he goes 7-5 or 6-6 I'd give him the boot.

Yeah, to be clear I'm not suggesting that we should have paid more for Mac. He is arguably overpaid for a guy who went 22-15 at CSU and who has almost no recruiting connections in the SEC.

I just wish we had purchased a top coach from the beginning instead of paying 3.5 million for one 22-15 coach and 3 mil for another.

I realize UF athletics includes highly successful sports other than football ... but in fairness
Foley's AD salary should not rank higher than 8th in the SEC if he negotiates a 10th rank
salary for UF's CFB HC.

And yes, once past coach salary-debts are off our backs we can increase our CFB HC
salary concomitant with his upward winning record. UF should not bend over to pay
detrimental buyouts for failure coaches.
