Coming into this year I think many of us thought we had a likely 7 wins. Those being UMASS, Kentucky, North Texas, Vandy, Missouri, South Carolina, and Presbyterian. That left 5 games, Tennessee, LSU, UGA, Arky, and FSU. We've already lost against the Vols obviously so that leaves 4 games. My question is what does Mac record have to be in these last 4 games, LSU, UGA, Arky and FSU to win your trust going into next year? For me he need to win 3/4.

You mean to show that we are actually heading toward the desired elite status needed to compete for national championships? Then we need to win the rest of the games on our schedule. Because next year, though the offense should be better, the defense will no doubt be considerably worse.

That would put him at 10-2 and depending on the other loss...if its an SEC game we probably miss out on ATL. If it is FSU and we finish 7-1 in conference we will go to the ATL. The East is so down right now. It is a really poor division.

To answer your question...he needs to win out. No one left on the schedule is elite. Time for Mac to start coaching like one of the best.

I agree but if we do end up going 10-2 in the regular season, would that inspire confidence in coach Mac?

Depends on those last games. Did we lose to FSU again and the bowl game? Did we get crushed in ATL and the bowl game? I really need to see how we are playing at the end of the season. The freaking bowl game matters.

Rex, I actually agree w' you for once. I thing the bowl game does matter and that it pays dividends when it comes to recruiting and starting spring practice off in a positive manner!

I actually agree w' some of the things you post. You're just so negative all the time. C'mon man, life is too short!

Going into the season, I thought this team was capable of at least a 10-2 season. Anything less than that equals a very disappointing year, and I think Mac's future firing is inevitable. Next year this team will overachieve if they get to 9 wins, so I think Mac must have a double digit win season this year to not only guarantee a 4th year but to recruit well enough so that year 4 will be a 10+ year season or better. Recruits we need will not come here if this program regresses from last year. This may be the most important season, bowl game, and recruiting class of Mac's head coaching career.

You're wasting your breath. We've all been encouraging the short armed dino to relax and try not to get so stressed over a game being played by a bunch of kids, but he just doesn't seem to get it. Guess some people just prefer to dwell on the negative things in life.

Actually, I am pretty indifferent. I just call it like I see it. We've been mediocre for so long. It just is what it is at this point.

Anyone who still pumps this "bowl games don't matter" bullsht is a certified vagina. They mattered to everyone on this board until we started getting our butts kicked in them. Bowl games don't matter is loser talk like this below.

At this point, I'm pretty confident we lose to either USC or Mizzu and lose to all the other mediocre or better teams.

Lol hell no, it was embarrassing to be there. I would prefer to not go to a bowl unless it's a decent one. But ya know what's worse than a crappy bowl? Losing to a crappy team in a crappy bowl. Bottom line is if you have to play a game, you need to win.

None of the bowls matter except BCS and playoff. Because the way the system is set up now.. the rest of these bowls are just paid vacations. The bowls outside of the games that matter are just TV time fillers now.

We need to win out, for the sake of the program, fvk butters & nuss, we are seeing muschump redux. He steals 3* from the sunbelt. Has shown zero improvement, allows us to be embarrassed in a bowl (that does effect recruiting).

Unless the new AD hears a lot of noise in the system, he will probably let Mac continue, that means another year or two for sure. If we don't win at least 9 games this year, we won't pull in a top 10 recruiting class, which will put us further behind our rivals. Who not only have recruited better but have quality depth at every position, we can't even field a decent OL of starters.

We all know we lose a lot on defense at the end of the year, so next year, if we can't score 24+ each game, we'll might have a losing record. So unless we get our shiat together this year, this cycle of lousy on field performance chasing highly rated recruits away will cause a volish decade long rebuild. Oh snap, we are already 6 years in to it, and you can bet all your sportsbook money we won't be contenders in the next year or three.

This seems spot on to me...
