Great Story.... 'the Catch'

I'm about 10 rows up in that picture. Was just out of college and lived in Daytona. Drove in and bought scalped tickets so I was sitting next to strangers in the student section. Celebrating that play and high fiving and hugging people I didn't know.

As a side note, my uncle passed away in the spring of '82 and my father that summer so it had been a very depressing 6 months. But opening day in the Swamp I felt like I was with 70,000 of my closest friends and it made it all a little easier.

There have been so many, but bottom line is this is a no brainer for me. Not going make a list. 1997 FSU My knees still get weak when i think of that final td. And with FSU fan sitting right in front of us.

1969, first game of the year at Florida Field (No Swamp; no BHGS). Houston was ranked #1 in preseason and we were not in the conversation. I will never forget the third play from scrimmage-John Reaves to Carlos Alvarez-80 yards for a TD. I can't remember the scoring sequences after that but we return a fumble for a score. TD Tommy Durance scored. Rich scored. Reaves had a career day. Houston scored 35 points and go racked. I couldn't talk for week because I was hoarse from yelling. Great game.
Worst game attended in person. Auburn 1982 (or 83-I was stationed at Air University then and took my Dad to a couple of away games) at Auburn. Wilbur Marshall was held all day long. We had two touchdowns called back on officiating errors. Pat Dye was ecstatic and Charlie Pell almost started a riot.

Jimmy Buffet sang the National Anthem. At the end of the song, a hot air balloon arose next to the stadium, resplendent with a banner that read "Gators Burst Through the Trojans."

And they did.

Much protected and unprotected celebratory sex occurred that night in Gainesville.

Growing up in GA I didn't get to to many. The 06 SEC title game has to be mine. One of my bosses was a huge UGA fan and wife worked for Chick-fil-A. Dropped two tickets on my desk and said to have a blast.
