Agree, that's what it looked like to me. Obviously, I can't know what CeCe's was thinking, but that wasn't a typical case of a player's momentum carrying him into the QB. His momentum carried him to the ground, he was looking at the QB, could see the ball was released so no point going after him, and for some bizarre reason he lifted himself up and seemed to intentionally "stumble" straight for his knees. And it looked like at the very least a medial collateral sprain. You seriously couldn’t tell that he did that shyt on purpose? GMAFB.
He “fell” then regained his bearings, then “stumbled” again once he realized acidentally carying him inot the QB. His momen he was right there at Guantanamo’s leg. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the UT qb had been talking trash back and forth with the defensive players all night, but that doesn’t excuse the plain as day cheap shot.
I’d love to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it was obvious he did it on purpose.
They had a few late hits and pi calls that weren’t made when they were on defense, so maybe that’s why it wasn’t called. I dunno, but it was a cheap shot, and a badly disguised one at that.
Like someone said, if the uniforms were reversed, everyone would be calling it intentional and a chicken**** play going for a guys knees. I expect it was a mental lapse and like ltraz said, something he will look at in film and wonder "what the hell was I thinking?".
