It’s tough, but I manage.Brainier? Must be tough having no brain.
So we are back to hope... If Van Jefferson catches one ball for one yard. that would be accurate.. Doesn't mean schit. We all hope he comes in an is great, and our offense is in the top 10. But hoping for it, and seeing the evidence it's going to happen are two different things. You make very optimistic statements on hope. We expect better coaching from the Wide Receivers coach, but that doesn't mean it will fully translate in 2018. Just like I believe Mullen will reduce the number of decisions any of the quarterbacks who see the field will have to make to reduce mistakes.
Until we see this team against live bodies from another team with similar talent, it's all hope.
Perhaps what you see and call "hope" I call increased expectations with some objective evidence that they are valid. Just words meaning little.
Would that ever happen to me?Stop the presses. Jason discovered a misplaced "i" in MJM's post.
Chief, I would say until we see them against a defense that isn't also orange and blue, there hasn't been any real objective evidence. The Orange and Blue debut is a marketing piece to raise money and expectations and has been for over a decade.
I somewhat agree, but having an experienced WR who has had success in the SEC and much better coaching is objective evidence.
I agree with the O and B game being irrelevant, but practices are .
Jefferson already performed well versus the high level SEC West defenses.Chief, I would say until we see them against a defense that isn't also orange and blue, there hasn't been any real objective evidence. NFL teams trade for players on other teams who have already performed at that level. Money talks.
Van Jefferson has performed against the the stronger level of defenses in the SEC West.
You said to me earlier that Jefferson doing well for UF (which faces the weaker SEC East) is just hope. Wrong again as you are just poor mouthing again.
Next time clear it with your mental superior The Chief so you dont make yourself look foolish.
That is what you call a half truth. I see why Donkey liked it as that is how he rolls. In 2016 Van Jefferson got 91 yards versus Bama and 43 yards and a TD versus LSU and their high rated defenses. Not sure what to think of Jefferson. He averaged 45 yards a game last season but only had about 20 yards in his games against Bama and LSU but he did have an 89 yard game against Auburn.
Are you his sock puppet or is it the other way around?Byrd should stay. We need diversity of thought and opinion on GCMB. He balances out the force on GCMB.

Byrd is annoying, you’re just embarrassing. You act like his bodyguard or something.Byrd should stay. We need diversity of thought and opinion on GCMB. He balances out the force on GCMB.

If you have something to contribute to the thread, then do it and let byrd fight his own battles.

What the hell are you talking about. An NFL team will trade for a player whose best year was 2 years ago with 543 yards receiving in NCAA football.
You're famous go to is changing the subject (earlier with Grier) or telling people how emotional they are or wrong they are without actual facts to back it up. You are acting like Van Jefferson is all SEC. Here are his two years of stats:
View attachment 9809
In two years in an offense that passes more than McElwain's or Mullen's he has basically a 1000 yards and 4 tds. I know that is ground breaking stats right there for the one receiver you are pinning your hopes on.
In 2016 his big games were Alabama (91 yards) and Memphis (79 yards). I know Memphis is that SEC West powerhouse defense right? The next high for him was 52 yards vs Vanderbilt (another one of those SEC West Powerhouses).
In 2017 his big games were California (94 yards) SEC West Powerhouse, Auburn (89 yards), and Kentucky (82 yards) also huge defensive juggernaut of the SEC West. His next high was against Arkansas at 55 yards.
Here are some low lights for you against great SEC Powerhouse Defenses Wofford 31 yards, Georgia Southern 49 yards, Tennesse-Martin 30 yards, Vanderbilt (2017) 13 yards, Louisiana (not LSU) 29 yards.
14 our of 22 games have been under 50 yards, 17 our of 22 have been under 60 yards, 22 out of 22 have been under 100 yards.
It's time to pump the brakes on your great hope.
