Has there ever been less interest in Gator football?

I'm as INTERESTED in Gator Football every year, I'm in withdrawal of not having the weekend to weekend EXCITEMENT of a properly peaking team come invitation time

I could care less about the season right now. Until we show a pulse on offense I'm not going out of my way to make sure I'm by a tv to watch it. I already gave up my season tickets after year one. I'm at a point if a better game is on I'll flip back and forth between games instead of watching only our game. And it's mostly I watch our defense and flip to the other game when were on offense.

I hate to say it but I'm with you Kev. Watching a Mac game is like watching a repeat of your worst day ever, in slow motion, in front of your friends, in high def.
It's not really sound football.

My biggest gripe is having to listen to the announcers talk about every minute detail of our opponents lives because the action on the field is so bad, boring, and non descript.

If I have to hear about a Vanderbilt players grandma, or their fourth grade project, or their recent inspirational talk, while we continuously go three and out....

I actually thought about bumping some of the BUTTERS REBUILT THE OFFENSE! threads or similar.... but I don't care enough to look for them.

I mean actual azzes in the seats, not numbers of tix sold by people who believed Ole Butters was proud of this team so the offense is going to explode.

I see a lot of empty seats when I occasionally switch to our channel.

Local radio has been saying Tennessee crowd was good but obviously it was gonna be because we didn't get to play our home opener until week 3 and it was Tennessee.
But to your point. I don't know a single gator fan that's excited about football. I don't have Facebook but my wife says everyone around here wants mac fired.
I honestly think whoever's pulling the strings here has a decision to make. You have 8-9 win coach who's style of play is to take the air out of the ball. Not too mention he's got 12 players looking at felony charges right now.

I know a lot of old timers who followed every game and held out hope no mater what. There was plenty of angst. But the loyalty was almost universal. Does that sound like now?

I went to the ut game and was actually fairly impressed with the attendance. Was probably 85 to 90% full. But Tenn travels really well too so it may have been an optical illusion.

85 was always packed. Even the 11 am games.

Well I'm gonna get a ration of back for this, but in the mid 80s when I was going to school there, most of the games weren't on TV, the stadium had thousands and thousands fewer seats than today, and I could still get a ticket for damn near any game for less than ten bucks.

I don't remember how much they cost but I think the student tix were ridiculously inexpensive. The cost was built into tuition. Still, if there was a lot of demand there would be people driving from all over the state and snarfing those tickets up since that was the only way to watch the game. Of course that didn't happen. Getting a ticket was so easy I didn't even bother getting student tickets after my freshman year.
