Rugby players are not seeing these injuries. You know it would hurt you as well.
you better put a helmet on that and the wall is claiming targeting
Yes it is, are you going to argue that it isn't?But hey, the equipment is better now, right??
The point is and always will be that helmets do not prevent concussions, proper form tackling does. This guy should also be suspended for however long it takes the guy to recover.Yes it is, are you going to argue that it isn't?

Helmets CAUSE head injuries unfortunately. The point is and always will be that helmets do not prevent concussions, proper form tackling does. This guy should also be suspended for however long it takes the guy to recover.
Why?Rugby also has some pretty strict rules about how you are allowed to tackle. It's not really the same thing.
It's only dumb when you come up with asinine examples. Obviously something like your example would warrant a huge penalty. But if someone takes a cheap shot at a guy and ends his career, his career should be over, too. Maybe guys would think twice about being dirty as sh*t if their career depended on it.Ah the hockey rule is so smart. You pull out a knife on the rink and stab the guy and if he can play next game no suspension, but if you board a guy and he misses the season you do too. That is the dumbest type of rule making one could possibly come up with.
"Oh this helmet prevents concussions? Now I'm going to use my head to hit EVERYTHING!!"Helmets CAUSE head injuries unfortunately.
A lot of people fail to comprehend part of the problem is the runners themselves. They have a tendency to duck their head down and try to use their helmets as battering rams to pick up extra yardage. The only defense against that is to lower your own head which is covered in a padded shell, and hope for the best. That, or just refuse to try and tackle them, but then they'll lose their job to someone else who's willing to "stick their head in there" and make a play. It's lose/lose for the defenders. They need to start penalizing the runners who lower their heads, and that will help stop these concussions more than anything else they've ever done so far imo.
I was taught in 69 by an ex gator player (our coach who played fullback for Graves and Woodruff) to put your face in their number when tackling.Huh? Just keep their head up. That's tacking 101. They aren't supposed to lead with their head.
In rugby it's illegal to make contact above the shoulders when tackling. It's not a situation where they make safer tackles because they aren't wearing helmets. It's not the player's concern for each other's safety, it's the players following the rules. Why?
Do you wear a seat belt? The point is and always will be that helmets do not prevent concussions, proper form tackling does. This guy should also be suspended for however long it takes the guy to recover.
