When Muschamp left we had no OL and two QBs on the roster. The program is not in worse shape than that, but it isn't that much better. We do have two young QBs who may be talented on the roster and Jake coming in. That is a good step. Without a good QB we will never be very good. That is one thing we have learned.

Our OL is not great, but at least we have built depth (need to get more in this years class)

Defensively we have been strong the last two years, but should take a dip next year. This is a recruiting issue as we don't have the dominant DL or LBs to help really stop good running teams.

How could it be? We haven't lost a HS team under Mac, and we are not or have we've been close to being 4-8.

If we don't improve and improve quick we very well could go 6-6 this year and not make a bowl next year.

It's in better shape but a large majority of the problems that we're here when chump was in charge still exist. Actually... i don't believe the offense was ever ranked a 115th under chump but it currently is. The whole program is a sh*t show either way you slice it!

Not in worse shape but have a shyt-ton of work to get done to where it needs to be. Hard to say it was worse by going to ATL last year. But Chump was never able to do it as weak as the East is.

The only thing after getting to know Mac a bit is I wish he had 4 ounces of Muschamps amperage, about 4 ounces of M3s in game adjustments, about 2 ounces of Zooks Love and about 4 ounces of SOSs knack for play calling... yeah, leave 2 ounces of himself. :scratchchin:

I would say definitely in worse shape because Mac was hired to energize the offense and pull the Gator Nation back together. He has failed miserably at both of those tasks...

It depends on if our coach keeps choosing the wrong QB like Muschamp did. That being said Muschamp couldn't recruit OL and now mack can't recruit OL or DT. Isn't looking good for the next guy. How sad is it that we would rather have Zook back at this point. At least we looked somewhat competitive with him and he could recruit.

No, Muschamp is a bad head coach and all of his players at UF knew it, if he were still here we would have been 5-7 last year and on our way to 4-7 this year.

I agree it depends on the metric.

In some ways, we are, however, clearly worse. We still have no offense and now the defense is looking at having almost no DTs and inside linebackers, along with new starters at DE and CB. We only recruited a couple of OL last year and have 1/2 right now. That's a great concern also.

In terms of actual talent, numbers of stars if you will, we are the worst we have been since probation, and it's getting worse and worse each class.

If we lose to the Chumpcocks, we are likely to have the second losing season since the 70s. That says it all.

At least we haven't lost to a 1AA team. There is that.

Give mac another recruiting class . well have the same issues offensively and be just as bad on defense. right now we're in just as bad of shape if not worse.

The program is actually in better shape. Facilities are being upgraded and we have much more talent/depth on offense than when Chump left. Defensively, we are going to be in the ditch starting next year. The good news is, we only have another year or two of this decline in talent before we roll the dice on our next hire.

All that is needed to fix this program is an excellent head coach. Sadly there is not one on the horizon!
